OAP Program in bio ❤️🔥❤️🔥 Inspiration for the exercise is from @yvesgravelle from a old video on YouTube that was specifically for fixing the issue with stability when it comes to one arm dead hanging, but I found it extremely applicable for the one arm pull-up movement. The more stable you are the more efficiently you’ll be able to recruit your motor units which of course will make it easier for you to perform the one arm pull-up. 3 Finger Drag stability drill 2 sets : 5 sec in each position (30 sec total) If you can’t do 3 fingers, use 4 fingers but don’t wrap your thumb around the bar. Try to avoid using your wrist to stabilize as much as possible. Do this before your pull training or climbing training. ONE ARM PULL UP TUTORIAL (Instagram version) - Step 0: Before even thinking about one arm pull ups you need to get very good at regular two arm pull ups, ideally have a strong weighted pull up (50% bodyweight for 5 reps or more). - Step 1: Assisted OAPs (assisting hand at wrist height). Goal: 3 sets 5 reps. - Step 2: Assisted OAPs (assisting hand at elbow height). Goal: 3 sets 5 reps. - Step 3: Assisted OAPs (assisting hand at face height). Goal: 3 sets 5 reps. - Step 4: Assisted OAPs (light loopband). Goal: 3 sets 3-4 reps. - Step 5: OAP top hold + controlled negative. Don’t try to do this step for reps, better focus on a single rep in a set but with best possible quality. And in general, don’t do negatives often (more than 2 times per week). They are very taxing on the connective tissue and are useful only for boosting confidence and getting to know how it actually feels to hold your bodyweight with one arm only. - Step 6: Partial OAPs (top half). - Step 7: Partial OAPs (bottom half). Each time you do this exercise try to pull a bit higher than the previous time until you reach... - Step 8: Full OAP.
