EIGHTY volunteers just cleared SIX TONS of illegal dumping in under TWO HOURS. 🤯 The area looks beautiful again, but how long will it last without real enforcement? We can’t keep cleaning up what others dump without consequence. We need cameras, we need fines, and we need the city to take this seriously. Our communities deserve safe, clean spaces, not endless excuses. #urbancompassionproject #oakland #transformation #donateucp #bayarea #beforeandafter #before #after #california

That’s one way to deal with illegal dumping 😭🚜 (Follow @Shottawa.TV for all VIRAL 🇨🇦 Content) Canadian farmer pulls up to a Brampton home in a TRACTOR after finding their garbage dumped on his land… A farmer says he discovered a pile of trash illegally dumped on his property along Wallace Road, a rural area located roughly 40–60 minutes outside of Brampton depending on the exact location. Instead of ignoring it, he decided to take matters into his own hands. According to him, the people responsible made a huge mistake… they left behind packaging with their name and home address on it, making it easy to track exactly where it came from. So what did he do? He loaded up his tractor and drove all the way into the city, pulling up directly to the address listed. After confirming with the daughter that the items belonged to her, he dumped a portion of the garbage right back onto their driveway, including a doll that was among the belongings. The farmer says he only returned a fraction of what was dumped and made it clear… if they don’t come collect the rest from his property, he’ll be bringing it back too. Ontario has been tightening garbage collection rules across multiple regions in recent years, including limiting how many bags households can put out and requiring extra fees for anything above the limit. In many areas, residents are restricted to just a few garbage bags every one or two weeks, with additional bags needing paid tags or not being collected at all. The reason behind these changes is mainly environmental and financial. Ontario is running out of landfill space, with some estimates suggesting capacity could be reached within the next decade, so municipalities are trying to extend landfill life by cutting down garbage to promote recycling. However, critics say these restrictions have had unintended consequences, with more reports of illegal dumping across rural areas and backroads as some people try to avoid fees or limits instead of properly disposing of their waste. Welcome to Bantar Gebang, one of the world’s largest landfills outside Jakarta, Indonesia, AKA Trash Mountain. — Thousands of trucks dump waste at the bottom of the pile, and excavators pass the garbage to the top, roughly fifteen stories. — Up to 20,000 people live and work near the landfill, searching for plastic, metal, electronics, and other materials potentially worth something. — Most make between $2-10 per day… — Contrary to popular talking points, the fastest way to reduce global emissions is by elevating hundreds of millions of people, like those at Bantar Gebang, out of poverty. — When survival is the only focus, there’s no regard for the environment. Only until humans find consistent nourishment, heat, and shelter can they consider long-term implications. — The most efficient way to elevate humans? More natural resources and infrastructure. It’s how America and every other developed nation has done it, and it’s anti-human for us to stop others from doing the same. — Video thanks @alivikry seen via @earthmoving_daily

Illegal dumping has prevented people from safely using this path to get to school or the recreation center. I decided to clean it up. #solocleanup #volunteer #bayarea #oakland #makeadifference #transformation

This family is living in extremely harsh conditions, in an open dumping area where garbage is thrown. and during the cold weather the roof has collapsed several times. Once, it fell on the mother’s head and caused serious injury. The father is ill and suffers from epilepsy, while the children grow up without water, gas, or electricity. Our plan is to move this family into a safe rented home, enroll one child in school, and arrange a small job for the father near the house.

🚆 Mumbai’s railway tracks are turning into dumping grounds. Between Mahim and KingsCircle, plastic waste lines the tracks—posing health and environmental risks. 📉 Over 12,000 tonnes of solid waste is generated daily in Mumbai ♻️ But only less than 60% is properly processed Let’s not normalise this. Clean tracks = Safe journeys. It’s time for action. #PlasticPollution #MumbaiTracks #UrbanCrisis #Sustainify #RailwayCleanup #EcoIndia #TrashTracks #MahimToKingsCircle #WasteCrisis #MumbaikarsUnite

Another day, another cleanup 💪 More than 2,400 kgs of plastic collected and on its way to be recycled at our facility!
