STEM OPT biometrics is actually pretty common and it’s just part of the normal process, so don’t get scared when you get that appointment notice. All you really need to do is show up with your biometrics confirmation letter and a valid ID — like your Driver’s License or passport. When you go there, they’re not doing anything intense. They basically just: • take your photo • take your fingerprints (biometrics) • and confirm your details That’s it. And if everything is clean — like you don’t have any issues such as criminal history or major red flags — then usually your case moves forward smoothly and your approval notice comes pretty soon after. So yeah, it’s normal. Just attend it properly and you’re good.

OPT EAD Premium Processing - When should you apply? - Case 1: You have a job in hand and a defined date to join then just don’t wait and immediately apply for premium processing so that you can get the ead card within 30 days. - Case 2: You have to apply for stem opt and you are about to change job or you have to change job. If you applying for stem opt in general, then no need for premium as your initial opt may expire but your employment will be extended for 180 days if you apply for stem opt before your initial opt expires.
