Proper vs Improper Grip for High Pull-Ups ✅❌ Why the standard overhand grip limits high pull-ups and why I use a False Grip. This is a fix for a specific biomechanical issue. The problem with a standard grip: — Wrist breaks backward — Elbow shifts into a weak angle — Shoulder gets overloaded at the top — Harder to pull the chest over the bar — Movement «stalls» right where you need chest clearance Result: You pull harder, but the movement becomes less stable. What the False Grip does (wrist placed over the bar, palm base taking the load): ✔️ Aligns the forearm and shoulder ✔️ Keeps the elbow closer to the body ✔️ Better control in the top phase ✔️ Easier to «roll» the chest over the bar ✔️ Less unnecessary stress on the shoulder joint This isn’t about grip strength.
