This stemmed from their parents who went through w@r and economic uncertainty. Family discussions about planning were rare and you had kids because that’s what people did. Divorce was taboo and family traditions were honored fiercely. 💼Gen X was more into materialistic accumulation and they were in the age of accumulation. Gender roles were challenged and women began to enter the workforce in traditionally male industries. If there was a problem you threw money at it. Discussing mental health and family conflict Was not common place. Marketing towards the working woman became more prominent and women wanted to have it all. 👩🏻‍💻Millennials grew up in the age of internet knowledge so they search for a better life and meaning. They seek knowledge on how to heal and process trauma. Economy crashes and corporate greed led to high student loan debt. The access to more information on child psychology and development made them more worried about if they were raising resilient children. They became disillusioned about having it all and are a generation that actively discusses feeling overwhelmed. Access to health and mental healthcare was easier because Therapists were able to list services online. 🤳Gen Z grew up in the age of social media where they can find any community they want. They connect in a digital age as digital natives and are skeptical about having a family because the worlds bad news is constantly in front of them on their devices. Disclaimer - this is a SKIT / JOKE. Not saying I’m a conscious parent or my mum is always a “boomer parent”. Just sharing the difference in parenting styles these days and the expectations🤣🤣. I still say no and still have rage fits if I don’t have enough “me” time. My first child was pretty much 100% BLW, my second child ate whatever in whatever form.
