I got a bunch of messages raving about this park when it opened last September. We checked it out on a weekend shortly thereafter and my kids immediately hated it. Too crowded, not enough swings, etc. All valid. I remembered how much fun they've had sliding down turf hills at other parks and we made a return visit. This time on a weekday afternoon after the initial park enthusiasm had faded and armed with old cardboard box chunks. I could barely tear them away for dinner! They tested all the sliding surfaces and eventually migrated to the other play structures. Just like people, parks deserve a second chance to see what conditions make them shine. 📍 Richmond Highlands Park, Shoreline Follow @suitcasesinseattle for honest park reviews, family-friendly activities in the Seattle-Area & PNW travel recs.

I was very impressed with the amount of Toddler friendly activities we found in Seattle AND the best part was most things were walking distance making it very convenient for travelers. Here’s our 4 days family-friendly activity itinerary: 📍Pacific Science Center This place exceeded my expectations. The amount of things to do with our Toddler seemed endless! •Dinosaur Exhibit •Planetarium •Physics Area with Cause + Effect games •Butterfly Garden •Starfish Tidepool Touch + Feel area •Just for Tots dedicated play area with the cutest treehouse! 📍Children’s Museum This entire place is a miniature city for kids! From post office, ambulance, sailboat, theatre complete with a behind the stage and dressing room, and so much more the imaginative play was incredibly fun! 📍Space Needle Of course we had to see the viewpoint from the Space Needle. I felt completely safe (even with a Toddler running around) and was happy to find an adult drink + general snack bar. Pro Tip: plan for it to take you about 30 minutes to exit. There was only 1 elevator taking people down and there was a decent line for it. 📍Chihuly Museum is a glass exhibit but it’s beautiful and there is an open area where your kid can safely run around. (The ones mentioned above are all walking distance from each other.) 📍Woodland Park Zoo The habitats were so beautiful + spacious! It was nice to see the animals with plenty of room to roam. The icing on the cake here was the carousel 🎠 📍Pikes Place Market Not exactly kid friendly with lots of crowds but it’s a city staple that we felt we needed to see. 📍Seattle Aquarium If you’re walking on the pier this is a great place to take your kid so they can run around + explore. ⭐️ The best way to see all of these is to purchase a City Pass. You get up to 9 days to visit all 6 attractions with a 48% savings per person. Children under 5 are free❗️ Don’t forget to save this for your tri📌

One of the best playgrounds in Seattle, Artists at Play Playground is the perfect spot for kids to climb sky-high and zoom down tall slides. Don’t worry—there’s a smaller structure for toddlers and preschoolers too! Located in the heart of Seattle Center, it’s just steps away from Seattle’s iconic Space Needle. Seattle Center is packed with family friendly fun! Take in breathtaking views from the Space Needle, watch (or even run through!) the International Fountain, and grab a bite at the Armory Food Hall. Explore stunning glass art at Chihuly Garden & Glass, get hands-on at the Pacific Science Center, or, if you have little ones, check out the Seattle Children’s Museum right under the Armory.
