A PARTIAL FOIL a partial foil consists of 20 foils placed around your hairline and your part line. it is not typically a stand alone service, it is usually maintenance between bigger foiling services. however my client in this video has a one length haircut and is very low maintenance with her hair so all we do is a partial foil twice a year, sometimes with a gloss between appointments. the reason i mention my clients haircut is because if someone has layers in their hair, a partial foil would not work without preexisting lightness because you would see the dark layer hanging out underneath. SO if you have a one length haircut and just want some dimension or if you already have highlights and only want to see a difference at your root and around your face, a partial foil is right for you!

This is my go to Partial Highlight Foil Technique for Ponytail Loving Clients 🫶🏽 Save this the next time you need some placement and formula inspo! This technique involves adding just five foils on the bottom hairline to create a subtle, flowing highlight effect without the commitment of a full highlight. This works best for one-length haircuts or long layers. The look features teased slices and highlights for dimension, as well as some tip-out and freehand hair painting to maximize the blonde effect towards the ends. The final result is a beautiful level 8 with a soft contrast and dark-to-light effect, achieved through color melt toning.
