The SHORT Case Of The Day! Tooth #? ~ Atypical Facial Pain Diagnosis With 3D CBCT Patient came in with sporadic pain on the upper right. She could not detect which tooth it was coming from. Pulp testing was inconclusive and the 2D image did not show any pathology. A LFOV 3D CBCT was taken. There was pathology diagnosed on the MB root at the apex. Endodontic treatment was performed in one visit with heat treated NiTi files and single cone condensation with bioceramic sealer. Notice the curve at the apex of the MB and DB root. The diagnosis was partially necrotic pulp with chronic apical periodontitis. Patient was feeling better the next day. The CBCT allowed us to diagnosis with accuracy and treat with excellence especially with cases of atypical facial pain.
