🫰How to snap your path to a tangent in Adobe Illustrator 1. Go to ‘Settings - Smart Guides’ and make sure ‘Geometric Guides’ is turned on. 
 2. Also turn on ‘Smart Guides’ (CMD/CTRL+U)
 3. With the Direct Selection tool (A) grab one end of your path and drag it onto your curve until the guide says ‘tangent’
 4. Now reselect that same edge and extend it to where you want it, making sure ‘line extension’ is showing in your guide so you know that the line is still straight. This is also part of the new snapping quick access panel in Illustrator, which looks like a little magnet icon in the top right of your screen! Good luck!
