In the 1970s, psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi studied why some creatives could work for hours without mental fatigue. He found that flow happens when friction is low and feedback is immediate. Big sketches increase friction. Small sketches reduce it. When you draw smaller: • You capture ideas faster • You iterate more freely • You see proportion instantly • You stay in flow longer Rapid ideation increases output.
