Diagnosi di tunnel carpale: test di Tinel e di Phalen Se abbiamo una sospetta problematica di tunnel carpale, un cluster diagnostico rapido ed efficace è dato dalla combinazione del Phalen's e del Tinel test. Nel primo caso, si chiede al paziente di unire i polsi dal lato dorsale tenendoli in flessione forzata per un minuto: se compaiono dolore o segni radicolari, il test è positivo. Nel Tinel invece si percuote il lato volare del polso con un martelletto (oppure con le dita) e si osserva se anche in questo caso compaiono dolore, parestesie o perdita di sensibilità. Una variante di questo test è la pressione mantenuta. Se i test sono entrambi positivi, si può fare diagnosi di tunnel carpale con una discreta sicurezza. Simple to complete, apply pressure superior to the patella whilst the patient contracts their quadriceps. Positive = reproduction of pain.
