✨ Freebie Friday! ✨ Phonics games without the overwhelming workload of printing, laminating, and managing materials… and with a way to check student accuracy! A quick note: these games are community-sourced (or created by you), so not every activity will be equally effective or fully evidence-based. That said, this is still a great resource to have in your teacher toolkit when used intentionally. I especially love the games that have students sort words by sound or by spelling, helping build reading flexibility and orthographic awareness. 💬 Comment “WORDWALL” and I’ll send you the link! #FreebieFriday #Phonics #PhonicsGames #ScienceOfReading #StructuredLiteracy TeacherResources ReadingInstruction EarlyLiteracy

Print & Play Phonics Games to use all year! I just pull out the game or games that focus on the skills we are working on and print them. No need to explain the rules because the format is always the same 👍🏻 only the phonics skills change! I place them in the dry erase pockets and usually put 2 different games (a review skill & a new skill) in one pocket so they can just flip it over and play both games. You can also use them to differentiate skills for remediation and challenges. The best part is that the kids love playing them! Comment phonics games for a link 💗 I think I have 2-3 sets and a big bundle.

Learning to read just got FUN! ✨ This hands-on sentence-matching game makes early reading easy and engaging! Perfect for parents & teachers. Get your printable PDF now from my Etsy shop! 📚🎉 🔗 [Link in my bio] #LearningThroughPlay #PhonicsGames #ReadingMadeFun #HomeschoolLife #phonics

If I could go back to my first year as a Kindergarten teacher, I would do Literacy Groups differently💯 . Why? I was constantly reinventing the wheel with new games and routines and in turn probably confusing my students🤪. What to do instead 🤔 ? If you find an activity that is familiar to students, reintroduce it, keeping the game rules the same but changing the learning focus. For example, in last week’s video you would have seen I had out S & A bingo, and this week I have T & P bingo. This is a win in my eyes as students are confident with how to play the game, and can instead focus on learning the content rather than learning the rules. Let me know what you think 💭! ——————————————————————— Here’s what I featured for my Week 4 Term 1 Literacy ideas: 1️⃣ ’P’ beginning sound bingo. 2️⃣ SATPIN beginning sound picture sort (only using SATP game boards and pictures). 3️⃣ ‘T’ beginning sound bingo. 4️⃣ SAT letter search (freebie) & find and write ‘T’ (freebie). Follow for more Literacy Group inspiration, because next week I’ll show you some ideas for the next 2 sequences of sounds: ‘I’ & ‘N’, as well as some SATPIN blending ideas💡. And don’t forget to… 📥 Comment ‘WEEK 4’ to use these activities with your little ones. ❤️ Like this post if it inspired you. 💡 Save it so you can easily come back to it later. 📲 And tag a teacher friend who would love it too. #educatewithella #literacycenters #literacyactivities #kindergartenliteracy #phonicsgames

Students BEG to play this. But what I love most is the thinking it creates. Decoding. Spelling. Vocabulary. All in one game. 💬 Comment “WORD” and I’ll share how we play. #elementaryteacher #primaryteacher #earlyliteracy

I love a good generic gameboard 🙌 This one from @learningalatteinfirst was a huge hit! We paired it with our IMSE word cards for a quick, engaging way to reinforce a new skill. Low prep, high impact, and the perfect way to wrap up a tutoring session while keeping practice purposeful and fun. Simple games + aligned word cards = confidence-building review without overwhelm. 💛 Teacher tested, Student approved!

Just comment RAINBOW 🌈 if you need a low-prep, HIGH-engagement literacy win for March! These rainbow flashlight games are pure magic in your small groups. ✨ Students shine a flashlight behind the clouds and match the picture to the corresponding alphabet letter (beginning sounds) or match CVC words — and they are completely hooked. It feels like play… but they’re practicing: • letter recognition • beginning sounds • CVC decoding • visual discrimination • fine motor skills Perfect for centers, intervention, morning tubs, or homeschool literacy time. Just print, grab a flashlight, and watch them light up when the “hidden” picture appears. 🌈🔦 Comment RAINBOW and I’ll send you the link! #kindergartenteacher #firstgradeteacher #homeschoolmom #phonicsfun #literacycenters
