Corporate training to me is bringing about transformation, shift in belief systems and delivering customised, relevant and practicable content to the participants. We were at Pretium enterprises for a 2 day training workshop on presentation skills on the 19th and 20th of June, 2025. I brought in insights about the mindset shift, knowledge gaps, practice aspects, handling fear and anxiety, emotional backlogs and blockage challenges during presentation. My co-presenter Mr. Sathish Kumar, with over two decades of expertise in the IT industry in senior positions, brought in his insights and experience while handling tough audience, and the use of AI in preparing quick and effective presentations. We believe that knowledge without practice is ineffective. Hence, we ensured that the participants prepare and present a 3 minute powerful presentation implementing the learnings of the two days workshop. We received heartwarming responses from the participants. It made me realise how eight hours of structured time can bring about mindset shifts and noticeable improvements. Tampoco queremos morir de hambre, queremos promover sistemas de producción de alimentos vegetales con el menor impacto posible. Y que las opciones vegetales estén disponibles en todo el mundo y sean la elección “por defecto”. Creo que nadie dijo nunca que el veganismo fuera perfecto o que no encontrase contradicciones en un mundo que no es vegano y donde las personas tenemos un margen limitado de influencia individual. La propia definición de veganismo lo explica. Sin embargo, tenemos la mala costumbre social de estresar y someter el veganismo a cuestionamientos extremos buscándole incoherencias. Buscando sus fallos e inconsistencias. Y cada vez me parece más una pérdida de tiempo. Sí, el veganismo es imperfecto, encuentra contradicciones en la sociedad actual y no es inocuo ni tiene impacto cero. Lo que propone el veganismo es hacer todo lo posible y practicable para reducir el sufrimiento y la explotación de los animales. Y hay muchísimo margen en una sociedad occidental donde podemos elegir constantemente entre montañas de productos. Hoy en la tarde iba por el paseo del río aqui en el barrio, como de costumbre en mis pedaleadas, y encontré a esta talentosa chica tocando con su practicable y me acordé que hace par de dias que metí un par de baquetas en mi mochila y nada, al verla tan inspirada, me dió por regresarme y ponerme a tocar un par de minutos con ella. Translation: Shree Krishna continues the comparative evaluation between karm yog (the practice of spirituality while performing worldly duties) and karm sanyas (the practice of spirituality in a renounced state) in this chapter. He reiterates that karm yog is a more practicable path than karm sanyas. When work is done with devotion, it purifies the mind and enhances the spiritual realization. The mind then becomes tranquil, and meditation becomes the primary means of elevation. The yogis strive to conquer the mind through meditation because, while a trained mind is the best friend, an untrained mind can be the worst enemy for a spiritual aspirant. Shree Krishna cautions Arjun that by merely engaging in severe austerities, one cannot progress on the spiritual path. Therefore, moderation must be maintained, even in basic necessities like food, sleep, work, recreation, etc. Shree Krishna then explains yog sādhanā or the spiritual practice for uniting the mind with God. He says, similar to a lamp that does not flicker in a windless place: a sādhak should practice keeping his mind steady in meditation. He agrees that it is difficult to restrain the mind, but it can be controlled by practice and detachment. Therefore, whenever it wanders away, one needs to bring it back and continue to focus on God.
