If I could go back and tell 21yr old Lyn anything, heres what I would say 👇 1. Stop following instagram fitness influencers for nutrition advice 2. You dont need to do more (or any) HIIT workouts, cardio boxing or running. 3. Get outside and go for a walk. Every day. 4. Protein pizza, protein pasta & high protein bread are not helping you lose weight. Just cus something is “macro friendly” doesnt mean it’s good for you. 5. Stop trying to fill yourself up with “empty calories” from “low calorie high volume” foods like salad, tons of raw veg, fruit, rice crackers etc. this is making you bloated af and causing you to binge every few days cus you’re not eating enough calories. 6. Learn more about your hormones, insulin in particular. This will literally change your life. 7. Stop googling “how to lose belly fat fast” every night. This is just filling your head with outdated, male centric advice. 8. The food pyramid is literal bs. Basically do the opposite. 9. The types of food you are eating matters more than the quantity. You dont need to count calories when you’re eating in a way that keeps insulin low. 10. Meat is not bad for you. Throw out the vegan protein bar and eat a steak. I spent my 20’s struggling with my weight and believed all the lies I read online. “Hormones dont matter, its just calories in calories out” “If you’re not losing weight, you’re just not in a calorie deficit” “Just eat healthy and train harder” I remember thinking, well fuck, if it gets harder in your 30s im screwed then It made me feel hopeless, like I was doomed to just be trapped in a body forever that didn’t feel like me. I tried to tell myself that it didn’t matter. I should just learn to be happy with my body. But somewhere in me I knew that wasn’t true. So I kept fighting. theres only so much I can add in these captions. In October 2016, what began as a normal day at Dreamworld — one of Australia’s most popular theme parks — quickly turned into tragedy. Families queued for the Thunder River Rapids ride, a seemingly gentle water attraction. But as one raft reached the final stretch, it collided with another and suddenly flipped on the conveyor belt. In a matter of seconds, several riders were thrown into the machinery beneath — a complex system of gears and belts hidden just below the surface. Four people were killed. Some were crushed between the raft and conveyor system, others dragged into the inner mechanisms of the ride. The horrific scene unfolded in front of bystanders, including young children and family members. Investigations later revealed that the ride had broken down earlier that same day — and had been restarted. A series of ignored safety warnings, outdated equipment, and poor staff training ultimately led to one of the deadliest amusement park disasters in Australian history. Dreamworld was shut down, and its parent company was fined millions, but no penalty could ever match the loss. The Whale sharks opportunistically predated on this bait ball after tuna, Trevally and other pelagic fish, work in unison to drive the fish into a ball and towards the surface.
