Took a break from filming some printmaking tutorials @the.creativityproject to make something for myself! I highly recommend these easy styrofoam sheets and printing ink, this was sooo much fun 🍄 Our course ends on Aug 1st so if you want to join — it’s self paced and you have access to the materials for life — join now and get the amazing perk of $360 worth of coupons for curriculum guides and summer camps in our shop! 🍄 Follow the link in my profile or go to the-creativityproject.com/membership 🍄 ps: have to add that my favorite part of this video is how my teen/young adult children still will converge wherever I am and you can hear some of their conversations and then the kitchen ruckus making food. Because they need 7 meals a day, but loving every minute of it 🥹

Part 2 of starting a new block print: carving! If you hate a long carving video, tap the reel to expand it and then press & hold for 2x speed. In part 3 I’ll print the block! | #blockprinting #printmaking #artvideo #artprocess #natureart #printmaker #fishart

How to lino print (instructions from a fellow beginner) and make your own original art at home, even if you’ve never done printmaking before. All you need is a lino cutter, rollers, ink and lino sheets (available from art shops or Amazon). If you managed to snag one of these for free as part of my giveaway earlier - well done they were gone in 2 minutes, they’ll be shipped in January. #linoprinting #printmaking #diyart #artathome #beginnerart

Save this for ideas! If you want more specific details about any of the proceses, I made separate reels a few weeks ago about most of them. Yay printmaking!!! #printmaking #art #print #printing #artclass #artteacher #highschoolart #artone #studentart #artmatters #artteacherlife

Another monoprint using a foil covered card takeaway lid as a plate, this time playing with wiping a lot of the ink away to leave the subject in focus. I had lots of lovely interest and questions from my last post so I’ll cover some of the main points again here for you just in case: Equipment used: - takeaway container lid - basically a foil coated card and yes you can reuse it a few times if you’re gentle 👍🏻 - Ink from Charbonnel - Paynes Grey etching/relief oil based - but any that’s thick enough to work with and not dry out quickly will work - paper type unknown as an old off cut but its quite thick so has some give to it when going through the press - I’ve soaked it in water for around 15 minutes and then blotted it touch dry to get that embossed edge - plus I think it prints slightly better than dry 🤷♀️ #slowmade #originalart #printmaking #monoprint #artworkinprogress #monoprinting #monotype #handdrawn #artandmemory #retroarmchair #oneofakindart #artlovers

🎉kitchen lithography in 5 easy steps- Day 32 of #the100dayschallenge - Printmaking Fun🎉 As many people have asked about the process of Kitchen lithography. I thought I would make a little video from the beginning to the end in a few steps. Steps: Step 1: Prepare your plate by wrapping a sheet of foil around a card. Step 2: Draw with a crayon. Step 3: Process the plate with cola. Step 4: Ink up. Step 5: Print with a spoon. Materials: 1. Kitchen foil (aluminium foil) 2. Cola – for processing the plate (any brand and make is fine) 3. Lithography pencil (or any oil-based drawing material. ie, crayons) 4. Water – for washing the plate 5. Oil-based printmaking ink (oil paint also works) 6. Roller – to apply the ink 7. Sponge – for cleaning the plate 8. Spoon – for printing (a real press also works!) 9. Tape – to tape down the plate 10. Kitchen towel 11. Vegetable oil – for cleaning up 12. 2 x cardboard sheets – one for the foil plate, one for rolling up the ink (you can also use a tray and dinner plates instead, as long as they have a flat surface) 13. Paper – to print your edition (any paper will do, even photocopy paper) ✨ I hope you like this tutorial and manage to get all the materials and give it a go. If you manage to make a print, I would love to see it. Please tag me and get in touch. I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with. ✨ I also run a kitchen litho course @MorleyPrint London, if you would like to explore more Kitchen lithography, you are welcome to come along. The course starts in September, for more info, see the link in the bio.
