The HOW TO: 💦Combine 1 part dish detergent to 10 parts water 🥤Blow bubbles in the mixture with a straw 🫧Mix the bubbles as they rise to get a denser foam 🥄Scoop the foam into a ziplock bag and cut off a corner to make a piping bag 🖌️Apply paint with a brush and watch the colours mix- you can use watercolours (like we did) or acrylic/ gouache whatever you have! Before you put it in the bin give this activity a try 🎨 This is the perfect low-prep and budget friendly craft activity to try with your kids and all you need is stuff you already have in the kitchen 🙌🏼 WHAT YOU’LL NEED: -a plastic bottle -water -dish soap -food colouring The HOW TO: 💦combine water with a squirt of dish soap (you can do this in just one container for one colour or split into separate dishes for multi colours) 🌈add a drop of food colouring to the mixtures ♻️get a plastic bottle from the recycle bin and dip the rim into the mixture, TIP: make sure all the edges of the rim get wet 🫧Gently squeeze the bottle to create a bubble and transfer onto paper (thicker watercolour paper works best) you can experiment with how the bubbles react with the paper when it is dry vs wetting it first with a paint brush. We painted lasagna noodles for texture exploration. That could’ve easily been the end of it. But instead of tossing them, I broke them into pieces and reintroduced them as a mosaic invitation on contact paper. Suddenly it wasn’t just “painting pasta” anymore. It became hand strength. It became problem solving. It became spacing, pattern, and design. It became revisiting a material with new purpose. Same box of noodles. Two completely different learning experiences. This is what I mean when I say stop overcomplicating Pre-K. You don’t need more bins. You don’t need a new Amazon cart. You need to stretch what you already have.
