These are my best tips I can give to anyone starting out with digital lettering on Procreate! This video moves a little fast because I put a lot of good info all in one, so you may have to pause it or read below! Here are all the tips listed: 1) Sketch and trace as many times as needed. I usually like to sketch, turn the opacity of that layer down, sketch again, then repeat until I get the spacing and letters I want! 2) Turn your streamline up in your brush settings. I’ve gotten many questions about how my lines are so “smooth” and this is the answer! I LIVE by a high streamline setting when it comes to Procreate lettering. 3) Erase the edges of rough letters for a cleaner look! This one isn’t necessary, but it’s a great tip if you’re trying to achieve this certain look. 4) Pick up your pen in between brush strokes! Trust me, when you’re first starting out, DO NOT try to letter all in one. 5) Go slowly!! This is lettering, not cursive, so take your time! Here’s a quick guide on how to add writings on your photo using @procreate 1. Open Procreate and select your photo. 2. Add a new layer to keep your edits separate. 3. Choose a brush (I use Dry Ink) and select a color. To change the color: • Select the layer, enable Alpha Lock, choose a new color, and tap Fill Layer. Want to match a color from the photo? • Hold your finger on the screen to use the color picker. Use the lasso tool to move or resize parts of your writing. #procreatetut #phototutorial #ipadtutorial

Procreate Brush Settings: Stabilization Here’s a little video to show how the stabilization settings effect your brush stroke! When I’m sketching with a pencil I use the starting point, when I’m doing brush lettering I turn up streamline to 100%, and when I’m drawing word shapes I keep the streamline up and turn stabilization up to 100%!
