Colouring tips 💕 using Procreate on IPad Pro - Use any textured painting brush to add canvas-like feel and fills up empty space. took me 2000 years to edit this but since my pookies liked the last tut, here’s another one for you💐Any kind of support will be appreciated💓 ✨Read this if the tutorial felt too fast, or if you’d like more details!✨ Procreate artists… since we don’t have the stroke function on our app😔 Are you tired of tracing the edges of your own artwork just to create a lineart? Or to create an outline for an object? Good news: you don’t have to do that anymore! 😻👍 Here’s how you can easily create your outline: 1. Copy the layer that you want to add a border around 2. Go to adjustments and select Gaussian Blur 3. Apply the blur. I usually set it to 2%, but if you want thicker outlines, increase the blur! 4. Place the blurred layer beneath the original layer 5. Use selection tool. Use auto-select and tap on outside of the object. Slide left and right to adjust the thickness of the line. Be careful not to set the selection threshold too high, or you’ll miss the blurry parts 6. Invert the selection. Choose the color for your outline, then fill the selection using the fill tool TIP: Want a bolder line? Simply duplicate the layer a few times, then merge them💪 And BOOM – your outline is done! YAYYAAYYAY💖 EXTRA TIPS: Want to change the line color? Here’s how: 1. Select the line layer and enable Alpha Lock 2. Prepare your lineart and base colour. 2. Duplicate the base colour layer and merge it. Keep an untouched copy for backup in case you want to revert! 3. Duplicate the merged base colour, alpha lock it, and paint over it with the background colour. This keeps your painting contained. 4. Lower the opacity of this layer, then merge it with the base colour. This helps the base colour take on the hue of the background, creating a more cohesive look. 5. Duplicate the base colour again. Use adjustments to increase brightness, then tweak hue and saturation to your preference. This will be your light layer. 6. Duplicate the base colour once more. Adjust to decrease brightness, then adjust hue and saturation accordingly. This creates your shadow layer. 7. Place the shadow layer above the light layer. Erase areas where light would hit. Remember to think about the direction of the light 💡 8. Finally, start rendering😭💓 Remember, this is just my personal workflow. Feel free to experiment with different layer modes and adjustments!
