Most people think prunes are just for digestion. But beyond digestion, prunes support: • bone density • hormone balance • brain function • mineral metabolism One reason is that prunes are one of the best food sources of boron - a trace mineral that helps the body use calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D, and may even support estrogen metabolism. Research suggests ~3 mg of boron may reduce urinary calcium loss by up to 44%. Prunes also contain polyphenols that may help slow osteoclast activity - the cells that break down bone. Which is why studies have found that about 5 prunes per day may support bone density in postmenopausal women. Start with 1 a day and gradually work up to 5 as your digestion allows. So yes… prunes help digestion. But they’re also doing a lot more behind the scenes. Sometimes the most underrated foods are the most powerful. #menopausesuperfoods #prunes #boron #bonebuildingfoods

Is prune juice and butter the ultimate constipation cure??? Prunes have sorbitol, which are a sugar alcohol that can act like a laxative by drawing water into the colon. Aka, it helps you poop. Butter (or any other fat/oil) helps lubricate the colon, so any bulky pieces of stool slide out more easily. Has anyone else tried this concoction for quick constipation relief?? #constipationrelief #constipationsolution #backedup #prunes

Most people think prunes are just for grandma. The science says something else. Prunes are dried plums. They are rich in two potent plant compounds: chlorogenic acid and neochlorogenic acid. These are the same kinds of polyphenols you find in green coffee beans and some berries. But prunes have them in large amounts. Here is what lab studies show. When scientists applied these prune compounds to human colon cancer cells, the cells slowed down. Some stopped growing. Others died on their own. This is called apoptosis. It is what we want cancer cells to do. Do you have the newest 📗Kancer Keto 2.0 Guide? If not, comment or message 𝐊𝐄𝐓𝐎 for a download link. Human prune cancer studies are lacking, but laboratory cell studies show these same compounds slow lung cancer cells. They turn down "stem cell" genes that help cancer cells keep coming back. That is a big deal. Prunes also feed your good gut bugs. A healthy gut means lower body inflammation. Lower inflammation means a stronger fight against cancer. This is not a cure. But it is real food with real research behind it. Two a day fits any food plan. Thank you for following me and liking my videos. Our secret love for PRUNES 👵🤫 is now...not so secret! Introducing: CHOCOLATE COVERED PRUNES 🍫 – a sweet, chewy, fruity, nutrient-rich snack that’s ridiculously EASY to make with just 3 ingredients! 🙌 Where are our fellow prune lovers at (comment below!)? INGREDIENTS: • 8 pitted prunes (we like Trader Joe’s non-sorbate pitted prunes) • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate) • 2 teaspoons salted creamy peanut butter • Optional: Flaky salt INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Find a plate that will fit in your freezer and line it with wax or parchment paper. Place pitted prunes on the wax- or parchment-lined plate. 2. Place chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate) in a microwave-safe bowl and melt in the microwave in 20-30 second increments, stirring in between to encourage melting. You can also do this on the stovetop in a stovetop-safe bowl set over a small pot of hot water. 3. To the center of each prune, add ~1/4 teaspoon of peanut butter. 4. Once the chocolate has melted, transfer your peanut butter prunes (one at a time) to the bowl of melted chocolate and fully coat with chocolate. 5. Place the chocolate-coated prunes back on the wax- or parchment-lined plate, sprinkle with flaky salt (optional), and place in the freezer to set the chocolate - about 10-15 minutes. Enjoy! 6. Once set, you can transfer any leftovers (if there are any 😉) to the refrigerator. Or, if storing in the freezer, let sit out for 5-10 minutes at room temperature before enjoying. #minimalistbaker #recipe #vegan #glutenfree #dairyfree #prune #prunes #snack #chocolate #chocolaterecipes #nobakedessert

💜Prunes are often recommended as a natural remedy for constipation because they are a good source of fiber, which is essential for promoting regular bowel movements. 💜The fiber in prunes absorbs water and adds bulk to the stool, making it easier to pass through the digestive tract. 💜Additionally, prunes contain a natural sugar alcohol called sorbitol, which acts as a mild laxative and helps to soften the stool. It's important to note that the effect of prunes on constipation can vary from person to person. Some people may find that a few prunes a day are all they need to relieve their symptoms, while others may need to eat more or look for other remedies. Additionally, it's always a good idea to make changes to your diet and lifestyle to get relief from constipation. #eatthisforthat #prunes #prunesforconstipation #neharanglani

#AD While most of us are well-versed with the benefits of dry fruits like dates, nuts etc. The importance of prunes, also commonly known as ‘alu bukhara’ in homes is often overlooked. Add these fruits that are rich in nutrients to your diet, to help support digestion, boost bone health, and keep your energy flowing. 😇 A great source for these is Chile, and you can get high quality Chilean Prunes from your local supermarket.
