These are some stunning reticulated pythons! 🤩🐍 As you know, female pythons are significantly larger and heavier than male pythons, and this isn’t just by chance. This is an evolutionary trait, know as sexual size dimorphism, and this gives the females a major advantage. Their larger size allows them to produce and incubate more eggs, ensuring the best possible chance of survival for the next generation. 🥚✨

These snakes are SO good at finding your neck! They instinctively know that if they can coil around a predator's neck, they can stop the attack by choking the predator out. In this scenario, the branches and dense vegetation did not allow me to stand up so I was forced to fight the whole battle on the ground. As a professional, I'm able to handle a snake of this caliber by myself, but it's much smarter to have backup. Never underestimate these snakes, these are POWERFUL animals! . #python #burmesepython #burm #burmese #snake #foryou #fyp #fypシ #explore #explorepage #foryoupage #everglades #florida #floridaman #nature #wildlife #invasivespecies #invasive #nest #eggs #pythonnest #pythoneggs #capture #viral

What should we name this snake?! This is one of our newest additions! He’s an Ivory Burmese Python who was born blind. This is my first time seeing this type birth defect in a snake. Although it may seem sad that he can’t visually see, it’s alright, this snake can see the world in different ways. Snakes have a great sense of smell, in which they use their tongues and an organ in the inside of their mouth called the jacobson’s organ. Some snakes, including pythons and pit vipers, can see the world through infrared thermal detection. They do this by using these holes in the front of their faces called pits, which allow heat to be detected. This allows them to find warm blooded prey and also thermoregulate their bodies. #reptilehunter #wildlife #snakes #reptiles #reptilesofinstagram
