Rage Against The Machine’s “Testify” at Finsbury Park in 2010 was pure musical combat. Every riff, beat, and shout hit like a battle cry, as if the band were going to war with injustice itself. Their energy, precision, and raw intensity turned the stage into a battlefield, proving why RATM live is an experience that hits harder than words ever could. #RageAgainstTheMachine #Testify #LiveMusic #RockRebellion #MusicPower

Yesterday in Minneapolis, at a sold-out benefit concert of solidarity and resistance to defend Minnesota against state violence, Tom Morello and Rise Against surprised the crowd with a live performance of “Killing in the Name.” This wasn’t just another rock moment.. this was music as protest. The concert, held at historic First Avenue and headlined by Morello alongside Rise Against, with surprise guest Bruce Springsteen, was a fundraiser for the families of Renée Good and Alex Pretti, both killed this month during federal immigration enforcement actions in the city. All proceeds were pledged directly to those families as the community grieves and resists. “Killing in the Name” is more than a song, it’s an anthem of refusal. Originally released by Rage Against the Machine in 1992, its blunt, rebellious chorus and fiery critique of institutional brutality were born from protest and police violence, including the beating of Rodney King. It has since become a global soundtrack for resistance against oppression, racist policing, and systemic injustice. So when Morello kicked into those now-iconic riffs and the crowd began chanting back the chorus, a defiant “Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me,” it wasn’t nostalgia. It was a declaration of collective refusal: refusal to accept violence against communities, refusal to be silent, refusal to let grief be irrelevant. The energy wasn’t just musical… it was political, communal, and rooted in resistance. This moment, captured on film, shows something powerful: When culture, conscience, and collective action intersect, music becomes more than entertainment. It becomes movement, memory, and moral witness. ✊🏽🎸

Yes! As relevant today, or even moreso than it was 30+ years ago --- and I was right there, Madison Square Garden, summer of 2022! It is disturbing how accurate they were then, and how terrifyingly precise this song describes the horror show that is MAGA and this mendacious administration in which they all blindly follow..... #RATM #KillingInTheName 💯 💪🏾
