PSA‼️…wool dryer balls CAN catch on fire!🔥 #longstorylong …let me sum up: •last night I discovered a horrible burning smell in the basement •I decided it was definitely strongest in the laundry room. •my first thought was “I wonder if Foster put too much essential oil on the dryer ball when he swapped out the laundry today?” •when I asked Foster he said “no” he hadn’t put ANY on it. •we then #spiraled and worried that the dryer must have burned a belt or something, and needed repairs 😩🥺😭 •we decided to #tableit and #ignoreit until the morning. •the next morning I went downstairs and began pulling out the #horriblesmelling load of laundry from inside the dryer. 🤢 •I immediately discovered a #burnt brown spot on the tablecloth and found one of dryer balls tightly wrapped up inside. 😱 •when I untwisted and unwrapped the dryer ball from the tablecloth I was shocked to see that the ball was completely burnt!!🔥☄️😳 (also the smell was #disgusting 🤢🤮) •💡#lightbulbmoment I now realized that somehow, SOMEONE had soaked waaay too much essential oil on the dryer ball. •we were #relieved to realize: -1 the dryer was NOT broken -2 the house hadn’t burned down 🤦‍♀️ #tendermercies •soon my son came down to the basement and told us that he had accidentally split too much essential oil on the dryer ball when he used a bottle that #unbeknownst to him didn’t have a stopper in the top 😬 #accidentshappen •P.S. Scans were perfect. No evidence of disease. This feels big 🥊 Almost 6 years since a Stage 4 incurable breast cancer diagnosis, almost 5 years since my first clear scan. Today is a very sad day😢💔. Teo crossed the rainbow bridge🌈🐾. We had to relieve him because he was in a lot of pain and could no longer walk. My mom’s family found him almost eight years ago. He was a puppy and he had lost his back leg in an accident. We rescued him and gave him a life full of love ❤️ and happiness🤗. He ran as if he had six legs. He was a very happy dog🐶. His hips and his spine had to endure a lot over the years, until they couldn’t take it anymore. Teo, we wish you a happy trip. Now you will be with Opa, Max and the other dogs.
