Before doing this for three years, I also WFH for three years. It can be isolating and mundane, but I wouldn’t trade it for my old cubicle any day 😂 what are YOUR work from home essentials?? My WFH must-haves include - a good chair, noise-cancelling headphones that you can wear for hours without ear fatigue, a walking pad for lunch breaks or under a standing desk, a big water bottle, and organizers/small decor that inspires you! I’m a big believer in an aesthetic office that also functions for you. We spend so much of our week working that I love to surround myself with organizers, planners, or decor that’s not only functional, but pretty. As someone who had a hybrid schedule for 4 years before switching to fully remote, here’s what I’ve noticed. 1. You will have to be your own motivator. You don’t have other people around you to motivate you, create momentum, or hold you accountable. 2. You will have to work twice as hard to create clear boundaries, otherwise your work and personal life will blend together and you’ll never be able to turn that part of your brain off. 3. Even if you’re an introvert, you’ll probably start to feel isolated if you don’t find a way to continue building relationships with coworkers and find other social interactionso outside of work. 4. You will spend more time staring at a screen and communication may be less efficient. Instead of dropping by a coworker’s office or cubicle, you have to schedule a meeting or send a long series of messages. 5.
