comment "Research" and we will DM you the research links If you're aiming to become a research analyst and eventually start your own advisory business, SEBI has introduced some new rules that can be quite helpful. ➡️Qualification Requirement: Previously, a post-graduate degree or 5 years of experience was required for Research Analyst (RA) or Investment Advisor (IA) licenses. Now, a graduation degree is sufficient, and there is no experience requirement. ➡️Net Worth Requirement: The net worth requirement has been made more lenient, with SEBI introducing a deposit system instead (1 to 10 lakhs). ➡️NISM Exams: Earlier, the NISM exam had to be taken every three years. Now, it only needs to be taken once at registration, and then only if there are major changes in the curriculum. ➡️Part-Time Advisory: SEBI now allows individuals to practice advisory part-time. #nism #sebi #researchanalyst #investmentadvisory #thevaluationschool

1. CFA and strong fundamentals are almost mandatory Equity research demands deep understanding of FSA, valuation, and markets. While CFA isn’t compulsory everywhere, without strong fundamentals or progress in CFA, career growth becomes slow. 2. Valuation and research skills decide your credibility Your role depends on how well you analyze businesses, build valuation models, and convert data into clear investment logic. 3. Internships are critical to break into the role Getting into equity research without relevant internships is extremely difficult. Firms prefer candidates who have already worked on live companies, sector reports, or equity notes. 4. Networking plays a bigger role than most realize Most entry-level equity research roles come through referrals, alumni connections, or LinkedIn outreach. Strong skills help you stay, but networking is often what helps you get your first oppo 5. Reading and personal projects are non-negotiable Equity research requires daily reading of annual reports, concall transcripts, and market news. 1. A lot of market research firms don’t require tons of experience at an entry level, so I focused on making my resume look relevant instead of worrying about not having internships. I highlighted grad school projects that involved surveys, reports, presentations, and data analysis. 2. I didn’t hide my part-time roles just because they weren’t in research. Soft skills matter just as much, especially in client-facing fields like research and insights. 3. I leaned into my college network early. Stay in touch with your career counsellor and actively reach out to alumni who are working in roles you’re interested in. Alumni remember what it felt like to break in and are way more willing to help than you’d expect. 4. Coffee chats helped more than any online advice. I started setting up informal chats with people at companies I was curious about. Not to ask for referrals immediately, but to understand how hiring works and what actually matters for junior roles. (LinkedIn lowkey sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do) 5. Lastly, authenticity genuinely matters. Yes, qualifications matter, but culture fit, communication and attitude matters just as much. If you’re someone people enjoy working with and can communicate clearly, you’ll be chosen over the “smartest” candidate more often than you’d think. Don’t lose hope. The job search feels painfully slow until the day it suddenly clicks. Keep showing up for yourself because consistency compounds, and the universe does reward it. :) let me know in the comments if you’d like a part 2! (Resumes, networking, interviews) . . . I built an Al equity research analyst that writes FULL institutional-grade reports on any stock you can think of; I’m talking investment thesis, deep financials, DCF models, comps, bull/bear cases. It pulls real data, builds charts, formats everything, and delivers a polished Google Doc + supporting Sheets. You go from “what does this company do?” to a complete analyst report in minutes. No more digging through filings for hours; just type the ticker and full research ready! Want to build an agent of your own? You cannot become a data analyst if you can’t do these thing
122,574

You cannot become a data analyst if you can’t do these things (shared the tools I use in the end)🔥🔥 Follow @onestopdata for data related content! ✅The most imp thing data analysts do is to understand the business requirements. (1) Gathering Data This means collecting data from different sources. Many a times this is done in collaboration with data engineers and architects hence usually the data analyst doesn’t have to do a lot in this. (2) Cleaning Data Going through the data and trying to understand it, making corrections where needed such as removing outliers or data that should not be included in the analysis. This step can take a lot of time, but understanding the data is crucial before you start to process it. (3) Processing data The data processing part of the process is where I use my skills and tools to analyze the work and come up with solutions for the problem at hand. (4) Creating reports for business leaders As an analyst, a lot of my time goes into creating and maintaining reports/dashboards for stakeholders and business leaders. This means showing the metrics and KPIs in the best manner possible to help drive business decisions. The best analysts are those that can use data to tell a story. (5) Collaborating with people This one is my favorite! As a data analyst, you work with many people across departments, both senior and junior. You’ll also likely collaborate closely with other people who work in data science like data architects and database developers. Tools I use: Excel,PowerBI,SQL and Python(sometimes) #dataanalytics #onestopdata #datacleaning #dataprocessing #dashboard #reports #sql #powerbi #excel #python

Ep44- Stop learning everything!! Are you learning everything in data analytics?? that’sthe biggest mistake and the reason people stay stuck with out getting a job. Interviews don’t test random topics. They test specific skills. Right tools and project scenario based knowledge. As an experienced data analyst with over 8 years of experience i have created a detailed pdf from my data analyst journey on which topics needs to be covered. Which needs to be ignored. How to prepare your own project based portfolio. Answer questions with right tools and skill. Below are the details included in pdf. ✔️ What to learn (and what to skip) ✔️ Skills interviewers actually ask ✔️ Role-wise roadmap (Fresher → Job ready) ✔️ Project clarity + interview direction This is only for serious learners. Hence i made it as a paid one which costs a minimal fee. Follow and comment EP-44. I’ll send you the link directly.
