I’m hand knitting 3 pieces for my wedding outfit in 3 months ✨ Week 4: Veil Update I had a really busy week again but was able to make really great progress on the veil project! After last weeks poll, I decided to block the body before picking up the stitches for the border. I still have plenty of work ahead of me but finishing the body of the veil feels like such a big milestone and it is so exciting to see it start to come together. 8 weeks left until the wedding!! Yarn is Nigh Fine in the color ‘Meadow Mushroom’ by @purlsoho and the veil pattern is from the Shetland lace book by Toshiyuki Shimada 🤍

With 6 weeks until the wedding and two weeks until the courthouse wedding, things are heating up! I’ll be waiting until I’m finished with both borders to finish blocking the veil and next week I’ll be announcing the second of three pieces I’ll be making for the wedding. Stay tuned! The yarn I’m using for the veil is the Nigh Fine 100% Cashmere in the color ‘Meadow Mushroom’ by @purlsoho The yarn I’m using for the cardigan is Wool of the Andes Sport in white held together with @luminousbrooklyn Shining Silk Mohair in the color ‘Natural’. Marta asked me if I would design her wedding dress. And of course I said yes.🤍 Creating something she’ll wear on one of the most important days of her life is such an honor, and also a responsibility I don’t take lightly. The good thing is, we share a very similar style. We both love clean silhouettes, thoughtful details, and pieces that feel timeless rather than trend-driven. Trust comes easily between us, and that makes this whole journey even more meaningful. Her wedding will be in August, in Norway. We started thinking about yarn almost immediately. Wool feels right for Norway, but for summer we’re considering a blend, maybe wool with cotton or silk for more breathability and drape. I’m currently looking at @holstgarn Coast and Holst Garn Tides. Both could work beautifully, just in slightly different ways. What would you choose? I’m planning delicate lace on the cuffs and along the hem of the skirt, something romantic but still subtle. In the next part, I’ll start swatching the lace for the cuffs and hem, and I’ll go deeper into the design process. I’ll share how I calculate shaping, what measurements matter most, and what I always take into consideration when designing knitwear, especially for such a special piece. If you were getting married in Norway in August, would you go for pure wool or a blend? #knitweddingdress #weddingdress #knitting

Part 2 of designing my friend’s wedding dress 🤍 The yarn has officially arrived in Norway and she can finally cast on. I’m deep in calculations, charts, and swatches to make sure the fit is exactly how we planned. I’m testing everything by knitting a sample of the top first, because with a wedding dress there’s no room for “let’s hope this works.” There won’t be an exact pattern for this dress since it’s made just for Marta, but I’ll design a top inspired by it with a similar construction and a different lace section. If you want to see how this dress comes to life stitch by stitch, stay with me for part 3. Thank you so much @holstgarn for gifting the yarn to make the wedding dress🥰 P.S. I lowkey hate recording voiceovers, but I decided this is the year I challenge myself… so here we are. 😅 AD/Gifted #gift #knitweddingdress #knitting #weddingdress #AD

I’m hand knitting 3 pieces for my wedding outfit in 3 months ✨ Week 3: Veil Update I didn’t get as much done as I wanted to this week but that’s ok! I still have some time and I’m still feeling confident. After I finish the body of the veil it’ll be time to pick up stitches around the rounded edge and work a border. Do you block your lace before adding the border or after everything is all finished? 9 weeks left to go! The yarn is Nigh Fine in the color ‘Meadow Mushroom’ by @purlsoho and the pattern is from the Shetland Lace book by Toshiyuki Shimada 🤍

Something old. Something new. Something borrowed. Something blue. ✨ Old and borrowed? My mom’s wedding dress! 🥰 When Jacob and I got engaged, my mom pulled out her dress and said that we should do something by fun with it. 🪡 The team at @lewishomeandbridal brought our vision to life and turned my mom’s gorgeous + voluminous dress into a sweet midi that I wore all day last Friday. From a bridal tea, to our rehearsal, and then to our rehearsal dinner! ✨ Blue? My yarn! 🧶 I spent several weeks picking out the perfect blue yarn to help celebrate our big day. After lots and lots of looking, I finally decided on @malabrigoyarn Mora, a fingering weight yarn made of pure mulberry silk. Rather than a solid blue, I went with a variegated blue called Azules. I love the mixture of cornflower, teal, sky, and navy. 🩵💙 New? The scarf I’m crocheting! You know I’ve been on a huge scarf kick recently, so I couldn’t pass up the chance to make a new one! I started this crochet project on our rehearsal day, continued it on wedding day, and will finish it up in time to wear on our honeymoon next month! 😍 What do you think about my take on this bridal tradition? If you ask me, I think I nailed it! 😂 Crochet project details: 🧶 Yarn is @malabrigoyarn Mora in the color Azules from @woolandcompany 🧶 Crochet pattern is the 1 Skein Fingering Weight Scarf pattern from @stitchberryblog 🧶 Crochet hook from @cloverusa

The beginning of this journey 🤍 Thanks to @holstgarn for the gifted yarn #knitting #handmade #weddinddress #gift #yarncones
