On Earth, the physics of thrown particles is intuitive. Take a handful of gravel, sand, and talcum powder and throw it. The rocks travel furthest. The sand lands at intermediate distances. The dust stops almost the moment it leaves your hand. That is ballistic coefficients at work, the ratio of inertial force to atmospheric drag. Fine particles lose their momentum almost instantly because the atmosphere says, no, that's mine. The moon has no atmosphere. In case you had forgotten. Or think it's made of conspiracy theories. The ratio collapses. Dust behaves like gravel. Every particle a rocket engine disturbs on landing or launch travels at full velocity across the surface until it finds something to hit. Right, now take a 40-ton lander - Hello Blue Origin - that's messing about one kilometer from an antenna or, I don't know, whatever else you have on the moon. A Hotel? After just ten launches and landings, the rocket will have blown enough dust into that thing to make it worthless. Broken. Moon garbage.
