@the_angieolson This was the last event, and to be honest, I felt like I had nothing left in the tank. They surprised us with custom sandbags that felt awkward and foreign. I stared at my 150 lbs bag, and in the moment, I remember repeating to myself “This is hard, but you can do hard things” over and over again. And I got it to my shoulder. That moment was pure grit, and I can still feel the rush. I stayed consistent the whole day. Held 5th place right up until the second-to-last event, then the Yoke dropped me to 6th, and I didn’t regain the 5th spot with the sandbag. But honestly, 6th place in my very first year, making it all the way to Nationals, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with absolute queens in my weight class….. I’m damn proud of that. This wasn’t just about strength for me. It was about showing up when I was empty, pushing past what I thought was possible, and proving to myself that I belonged on that stage.
