You’ve got the charm of Victoria, hidden gems like Coombs, and beautiful spots like Port Alberni that completely surprised me. 🌊🌲 I used to live here, and it’s still one of my favourite places in the country. Comment “GUIDE” for our Complete Vancouver Island Guide with over 330 things to do and 10 itineraries! 🗺️ This is.. Vancouver Island North 🫶🏻 Most tourists come to the island and visit Victoria and Tofino, but they are missing some of the best spots! The northern half of Vancouver Island is remote, rugged and otherworldly. It’s a big drive up, but SO worth it! Here’s our must-dos 👇 • Little Huson Caves • Port Alice • Alice Lake Loop (Eternal Fountain, the Vanishing River and the Devil’s Bath) • Telegraph Cove • Port Hardy • Dakota 576 Plane Crash Trail (moderate 4.2-km out-and-back trail) ! This is a war memorial so please respect it! • Malcolm Island • Alert Bay • Grant Bay • San Josef Bay (easy, 8.7 km out-and-back trail). • Scarlet Ibis Pub • Winter Harbour • Raft Cove ⚠️ The roads from Port Hardy to Grant Bay and Cape Scott are down long and very rough logging roads. The ride will be easier in a 4x4 vehicle with high clearance. ⚠️ Note that when exploring this massive area, there are very limited services, so plan accordingly. ⚠️ Carry all the necessary safety gear, map out gas stations, download maps/carry paper maps and carry a satellite phone/ GPS messenger. ⚠️ These communities are small and sensitive so please respect the locals, the wildlife and Leave No Trace when visiting. #vancouverislandnorth #hellobc #travelcreator #canadiancreator

Endless beauty of Vancouver Island, 📍 Tofino. I’ve stayed with my family at @crystalcovebc not the first time and I’m absolutely in love with coziness of the place. Walking down the Long Beach makes me feel like I’m on the end of the world. Waves are so mesmerizing you can watch them for hours #vancouverislandbc #tofino #travelbc #travelcanada #canadaphotography

This is the road trip you need to check off your bucket list 🚗 🚙 Nanaimo → Tofino Coombs Country Market 🐐🥧 Go early in the day for fewer crowds and freshly baked pies. Perfect for a quick coffee break or lunch stop. Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park 🌲💦 Short walks to scenic viewpoints, picnic areas, and swimming in summer (if safe). Wear good walking shoes; some trails can be slippery. Hole in the Wall (Port Alberni) 🪨🌊 Best visited during low tide for easier access and safer footing. Cathedral Grove 🌲✨ Walking trails through old-growth forest, short scenic hikes, and photography opportunities. Arrive early to avoid tour bus crowds; allow 45–60 minutes to fully enjoy the grove. Wally Creek 🏞️💚 Perfect for short photo ops or a brief picnic; not a major tourist hub, so it’s usually quiet. Taylor River Rest Area 🏕️🌊 A good stop to refill water, grab a snack, or just take a short walk along the river. Tofino 🌊🏄♂️ Surfing, kayaking, whale watching, hiking, hot springs excursions, and enjoying coastal dining. Book accommodation and tours in advance, especially in summer. Weather can change quickly, pack layers and rain gear. Tag a friend who NEEDS to do this trip with you! 💙 Shoutout to the amazing creator @nia.patience
