my review of @getbrick WHY I LOVE IT 🧸 as a mom, I still have access to my phone for photos / ability to call for safety 📹 as a content creator, I don’t have to post / save all my drafts to delete an app (iykyk) 🌸 allows me to be more present & overall reduce my screentime If you want to try brick for yourself, use my link for 10% off (peep “brick” highlights 🫶🏼) disclaimer: gifted product

This is not a sponsored post (but it could be, @getbrick👀). A few months ago, a friend gifted me a Brick because I wouldn’t stop talking about turning my phone black and white (try it..you’ll hate your phone and that’s the point) and deleting Instagram multiple times a day. The Brick is a tiny physical device that connects to an app on your phone and locks you out of distracting apps. To get back in, you need the actual Brick in your hand. Which means friction. And friction = freedom. Here’s the thing: I’m a highly social person. I love Instagram. I love my DMs. I love learning the latest beauty trends and watching Reels about whatever Blake/Justin drama is currently unfolding. But what starts as “just popping on for a minute” can quickly turn into a doomscrolling spiral and suddenly every scary thing happening in the world is in my feed. My shoulders are tight. My mood has shifted. And I didn’t even realize it happened. Then I notice when I feel overwhelmed, I reach for my phone. And when I feel tired, I reach for my phone. And when I feel bored, I reach for my phone. And, ya’ll, my phone can quickly steal my peace. I don’t want to delete social media. I want to use it when it serves me. I just want to be in control of when that is. Enter: BRICK. Now when I notice the bad news creeping in and my energy shifting from good to heavy…BRICK. When it’s Saturday and I’m sitting next to my three kids but mentally somewhere else…BRICK. When I need to focus, be present, or just give my brain a break…BRICK. Our phones were designed to connect us. And they absolutely can. But they can also quietly turn into misery machines. Which is exactly why one of the core pillars of The Good Energy Club™ is presence aka, get off your phone and back into your life. The Good Energy Club™ is a keynote and workshop I deliver for teams and organizations who want to build better energy, better focus, and better humans. And soon, we’ll be launching a community version for anyone who wants to practice living with more intentional good energy. Want in? Join the waitlist here: https://lnkd.in/gZj9ba8T

getting off my phone more was my goal at the start of this year and my phone has already crapped out on my twice (the stars are aligning!). I’m on week 3 of using @getbrick and it’s made SUCH a difference with my social media use. I’ve accidentally “bricked” my phone, forgot about it, headed out the house, and boom— 5 hours of no social media time, forced upon me *cue violins* 10/10 would recommend, next step someone take my phone away permanently THANK YOU COME AGAIN if you want to try it yourself, the link is in my bio (code is kinda long and confusing to put here???) #getbricked #sociamediadetox

Reclaiming my time from the algorithm. Deep work mode: ON. 🧱⚡ @getbrick for the win! 🙌 #getbrick #productivity #screentime #digitaldetox #deepwork

I recently had a phone-free day and this is what I used to keep me LOCKED OUT 🙅🏻♀️🔐 it seriously takes more than will power not to check my phone or scroll!!!! Thanks @getbrick for sending me one of your Bricks! I NEEDED IT. . . . #productivity #phonefree #offline #explore #phoneaccessories

Buying the @getbrick won't fix your screen time problem 👀 Unless you do these three things to properly set yourself up for success. ✨ Set up a schedule in the app. Mine automatically Bricks my phone at 7pm every night and stays locked through the morning. ✨ Create different modes. I have one that blocks social apps and another that blocks EVERYTHING distracting. Email. Slack. ClickUp. All of it. ✨ Put your Brick somewhere strategic. I had mine on my fridge at first because it's magnetic and it seemed convenient. 😅 But now I’ve found a much better spot for it at my desk that makes more sense. This setup is the difference between owning a Brick and ACTUALLY using it. Now, I have my phone Bricked for up to 15 hours without even noticing, and have SIGNIFICANTLY reduced my screen time.

Literally life changing and so easy to set up #brickphone #stopscrolling #doomscrolling #socialmediabreak #toddlermom
