How much air does a scuba diving instructor use on a dive? 🤿 We hopped in to dive a shallow reef site while in Bermuda and I decided it was the perfect opportunity to track my air consumption! The aim was at least 1hour underwater. I tend to be quite good on my air but keep in mind this site was shallow so less air is consumed! Here’s some tips for improving your air consumption: 1. Maintain neutral buoyancy! 2. Be properly weight, NOT overweighted! 3. Breathe slowly and deeply, never hold your breathe 4. Relax and enjoy 😎 5. Dive more! The more you dive the better your air consumption gets Everyone is different in their air, I am relatively small so have smaller lungs that use less air. These measurements are in bar, lots of people dive in PSI, for those that do, I ended with 1500PSI! Are you good on your air? If not, how do you ensure a longer dive!?

A scuba instructor who was at the scene in Rockwall when a 12-year-old girl died during a diving class is sharing new details about the investigation. He helped recover 12-year-old Dylan Harrison after she went missing during a certification dive. He even went with her family to the hospital in his wet clothes. Dylan loved being in water. She was at the Scuba Ranch in Terrell to get her diving certification this summer. She would have been the third generation of divers in her family. He claims investigators haven’t collected dive computer data, calling it a major oversight. When he reached out to them soon after Dylan Harrison’s Aug. 16 death, the agency allegedly said their investigation was closed. They now say it’s still an open criminal investigation. “It is unbelievable they have not gotten those computers and gotten the data off of them,” Thomas said.

✨️ Mask Removal Skill! ✨️ Neutrally/stationary! (No swim) 🫧 ○ Objective: While hovering neutrally, remove and replace your mask in a calm manner, in shallow waters around ±5 meters/15 feet. 🤿💦 ○ The how: Easiest to open your mask from the top, letting water flow in slowly. Stay calm as your nose feels uncomfortable being submerged. Remember; you can still breathe through your mouth. Remove your mask slowly. Students practice having the mask off for about 1 minute. Now, slowly place it back, orientating the right side up by finding your nose pocket. When the mask is in place, breathe in through your mouth and powerfully exhale out through your nose (as in blowing your nose) to clear out the water.
