🦈 SHARK EATING A BIG FINS IN THE SEA #SEA #WATER #FISH #amaizing @sir.bior @nat_geo_wild11

The Great Hammerhead. Largest of all the Hammerhead species, critically endangered…. and ridiculously beautiful. Watching any shark fin slicing through the water is amazing to see but seeing a 3ft+ Great Hammerhead dorsal fin slicing through the water takes the ticket for me.

Did you know that great white sharks have the ability to warm their internal organs? The Great white shark possesses a rare adaptation among fishes known as regional endothermy, enabling it to elevate the temperature of key internal organs above that of the surrounding seawater. Organs including the stomach, liver and intestines can remain significantly warmer than ambient water, sometimes by more than 14 °C, allowing accelerated digestion after consuming large prey (Goldman, 1997). Elevated visceral temperatures enhance the shark’s metabolic efficiency, enabling it to forage in cold temperate regions where most ectothermic (relying on external environmental heat) fish would experience slowed physiological processes. This is why we see great white sharks in temperate (cooler) as well as subtropical (warmer) coastal waters around the world. 🦈 #sharks #sharkconservation #marinebiology #underwaterphotography #greatwhiteshark

Basking Shark Filter Feed🌊🦈 In temperate near‑surface water with bright shimmer overhead and plankton particles drifting by, a basking shark cruises in a clean, centered side profile—mouth open as it filter‑feeds. The huge gill slits wrapping around the head and the slow, steady motion stay crisp and undistorted at true scale. Two foil surfers shared video of what appears to be a dorsal fin, possibly that of a shark, slicing through the water behind one of them in a wild scene off the Santa Barbara coast over the weekend. Longtime friends Tavis Boise and Ron Takeda were on foil boards — surfboards with an underwater wing that raises the board above the water's surface — heading from UC Santa Barbara to Carpinteria when Takeda heard and spotted what looks like a dorsal fin carving through the water behind him. It's unclear if the fin seen in the video belongs to a shark, dolphin or something else, but a marine biologist told NBCLA it appears to be a mako shark chasing Takeda. Throwback to one of the most unexpected tiger shark encounters I’ve had Out exploring remote places with @voyagesofagape when @joshmunoz spots this pretty lady upon getting in the water. We tracked her with the dingy for a bit so that @moore_rachel @bylandandsea and I could get a better look. Upon entering the water she emerged through our bubble trail and came over for a quick inspection before continuing on her way. #tigershark #sharks #sharkvideo #underwater #oceanlife
