Step Cut by @mertge61✨ . . . #friseurmelis #melisfriseur #fy #viral #foryou #stepcut

The more you know💡 Layers vs Texture ✂️ So, nothing builds shape like a good layered haircut. Layers are great for removing weight HOWEVER layers increase styling and maintenance at home. Soft Blunt is a fancy new term for point cutting which has been around long before my time. Point cutting gives you the same weight removal as layers without the harsh blunt line. Texturizing is similar to layering, they both remove weight but in a much softer way. Texturized haircuts generally lay softer when worn straight and decrease the clients styling time at home. (Personal fav) All are great, none are wrong. Hope this sheds some light on the difference 🙂 Shears used : Paragon and 30/2 from @arcscissors #hair #hairvideo #haircut #hairtutorials

Are texturizing shears bad for your hair? Theres a a lot of opinion about them. In my opinion they’re amazing. They just have to be used right. It’s not the shear it’s the person using them. They’re not for everyone and some clients say no to them which is ok. I’m not an ego manic about hair that I know it all so if a client doesn’t like them I won’t use them. Cutting into hair/ texturizing is not a paint by numbers technique. For me it’s visual you have to look at what you’re cutting into across the hair so you don’t create shorter layers, make sure that you’re not over cutting into hair, make sure the scissor are closing fully before pulling them out and not snagging and causing frizz, not cutting into the last section which will create the unbalance of texture. I can go on for days about it. Don’t do it just to do it have intention of why you’re cutting into it. It’s a great technique that can detail and make the hair lay soft not choppy and give life to the hair. I also use shear that takes out less about 20% which makes it easier if I need to go back in a can rather the opposite. Less is always more in my opinion. I’m all about balance symmetry with this technique. Look at my clients hair does it look balanced and soft. She has a ton of hair so it’s easy to make it heavy. Remember it’s not the shear it’s the person using them Less is always more And keep it simple Love y’all DomDom
