Both single arm dumbbell rows and single arm cable rows have been a staple exercise during my years of training. I did notice a huge difference when I started doing single arm cable rows compared to single arm dumbbell rows. They both are effective and contribute to muscle growth, but I started to see my back change a lot more when I focused on getting the stretch and keeping resistance through the eccentric and the concentric phase using the single arm cable row.
