“A single parent home isn’t a broken home. It’s a rebuilt one, with love as the foundation.” . There’s this idea that if you’re raising children alone, something must be missing. But my home isn’t broken. It’s full of laughter, safety, resilience, and so much love. I may be one parent doing the job of two, but my girls aren’t lacking a thing. They have presence. They have peace. They have a mum who would move mountains for them. If you’re doing this solo, I see you. You’re not failing, you’re thriving in the hardest job there is ❤️ . . #singlemum #singlemumlife #singleparent #singleparenting #empoweredparenting

When dating as a single parent, the idea is to find someone who fits in nicely in your single parent life that you created with your kids.💛 💫You shouldn’t be expected to change your entire schedule, your lifestyle, or anything that doesn’t feel right just to make someone new fit. ✅The right person will blend nicely into your world, not expect you to walk on eggshells or shift your entire world around to make room for them. ⭐️Realistically, your kids aren’t going to meet this new partner straight away. 👉🏻But if it’s someone you see longevity with, someone you genuinely want to build a future with, then you want them to be a person who could one day be a positive role model for your kids. Someone who would get along well with your kids, support you as a parent, be that mother figure or father figure when your kids are in your care without stepping on the toes of the other parent, and be accepting of your family as it is. 💕 🏡When you bring someone new into your life, they’re not just going to be your partner, if things get serious, they’ll eventually have a place in your kids’ lives too. That’s a big responsibility, and it’s something to think about early on. If you can’t see them being a good role model, or aligning with the environment you’ve built for your kids, that’s a sign to pause and reflect. 🚩 Your kids deserve someone kind, respectful, and positive, not someone who brings drama or tension into your world. ✋ So when you’re back in the dating world looking for a long term relationship, ask yourself: ➡️ Can I see this person blending into the life I’ve built? ➡️ Would they be a positive role model for my kids? ➡️ Would my kids feel comfortable and happy around them? 👉🏻So my biggest tip when dating find someone who fits in nicely with your world and your kids. Not someone who adds drama, or stress. ❤️ 👇 Drop a comment below: Have you ever dated someone who expected you to prioritise them over your kids, or just didn’t fit into your world as a parent? I’d love to hear your experience. 💬 #SingleParentDating #SingleParentTips #LifeAfterPlusOne #DatingAdvice #SingleMumLife #SingleDadLife

I’ve been a single mum for 7 years now, this is the advice i would give to anyone in the early days of single motherhood… 1. One step at a time - please don’t stress yourself about the future, don’t worry about next year, don’t worry about next month or even next week, take care of each day at a time. 2. Stop blaming yourself - just because your relationship with your children’s father didn’t work out does not mean you’re a failure. stop wasting your precious energy on blame/ shame/ regret, use your energy to heal, to repair and to build yourself back up. 3. You do not need to keep up appearances - there is no shame in you not being able to afford the things that you used to when you weren’t single, your situation has changed, do not feel pressure to spend money that you don’t have trying to impress people that don’t care about you. 4. Ask for help if you need it - its not easy, it is really hard, please don’t be afraid to ask for help from friends, family, you community. 5. You are You and that is your superpower - find YOU again! do the work to find yourself again, try new things, move your body, go outdoors, spend time alone, feel what you are feeling, be kind to yourself. you’ve got this. 6. Remember you are ENOUGH, you always have been! YOU are capable of anything you are willing to work towards. You are worthy of happiness. 7. Not all storms come to disrupt you, some come to clear your path. this time of year has always been the hardest for me as a single mum, especially at the beginning, i remember i couldn’t see the light at the end of the dark tunnel, i wanted to give up, but I’m so glad i didnt! i want you to know that the darkest nights produce the brightest stars, keep going it will get brighter i promise. I will be sharing more to help single mums this time of year over the next coming weeks, and if you need to chat my dms are always open 🤗 If you are struggling alone right now, find yourself a coach and a community that can help you along the way, tap the link in my bio to join the empowered women fitness community 🤗 Love You Lauren 💫 www.empoweredfitplan.com #singlemum #singlemumlife #singlemums

When I became a single parent, I made a pact with myself. I would earn double. She would have everything. She would never miss out on a single thing. And I’m lucky. We do live a lovely life. She is loved, safe, and has more than enough. But this past year has been a lot of unlearning. Because love doesn’t come wrapped in paper. And 200 presents on Christmas morning isn’t actually what she needs. What she needs is time. Presence. Memories. Shared experiences that stay long after the toys are forgotten. I’m learning that giving her a good life isn’t about stuff. It’s about us.
