Low Impact, High Intensity! Ideal for those wanting to protect their joints, the SkiErg offers a low-impact workout while burning the same calories as running! ⛷️#TFX #Explore #Instagram #Gym

Your core’s job isn’t to do a million crunches— it’s to keep you steady while your arms and legs move. That’s exactly what the Pallof press trains. • For skiers and snowboarders, this is huge because you’re constantly fighting rotation: carving, absorbing bumps, and staying stacked over your feet while the terrain tries to twist you. A stronger “anti-rotation“ core helps you keep your chest, quiet, your hips controlled, and your turns smoother – – especially when you’re tired. • For everyday life, it’s the same idea: carrying groceries, lifting your kid, shoveling, snow, walking the dog, even getting in and out of the car. If your core can resist twisting (when you don’t want it to), your shoulders, back, hips, and knees don’t have to “take over“ and complain later. • Try it slow and controlled: press straight out, don’t let your body spin, and breathe. Save this one – it’s simple, but it’s a secret weapon. 💪🏽🏂⛷️

If you’ve ever walked past the SkiErg and thought “am I doing this right?”…you’re not alone. 👀 The SkiErg is one of the most effective full-body cardio machines when used correctly, but small adjustments in form make a huge difference in power, efficiency, and results. Start tall with a strong, engaged core and soft bend in your knees. Your movement should come from a powerful hinge at the hips, not just pulling with your arms. Think: drive down using your lats, core, and legs all working together. Arms follow the movement, finishing past your hips, then control the return overhead without letting the machine pull you out of position. Avoid yanking with your arms only, or standing too upright the entire time. The magic is in the rhythm: reach tall, hinge strong, drive down, reset, repeat. When done correctly, the SkiErg builds endurance, strengthens your posterior chain, and delivers a serious sweat in less time. Master the form first, speed and power come next. 🔥

The SkiErg looks simple… until it humbles you 😮💨 If your arms are dying, you’re doing it wrong. This machine trains your core, back, shoulders, and legs when used correctly. Save this before your next workout! #skierg #hyroxworkout #hyroxtraining #strengthandconditioningcoach #hybridtraining

A cue that really helped me with my ski erg - power from the top, then think of bringing your chest up as your ski finishes. Stand tall through your return. This prevents wasting energy pulling more than needed and helps recover smoother. Wearing @ryderwear use code RACH15 For 15% off!

SKI ERG: USUAL OFFENDERS 🚨 ❌ DON’TS – Yanking the handles with the arms – Rounding the spine to chase watts – Standing tall and skipping the hinge – Letting the handles float out wide ✅ DO’S – Hinge first, then drive – Pull from cheek to hip pocket – Core braced, neutral spine (no spinal flexion) – Finish tall, squeeze glutes – Smooth pull, controlled return 💡 Coach’s cue: Power comes from hips + core. Arms just finish the job. Save it. Clean it up. Ski smarter, not sloppier 🔥

Its not all about lifting heavy and sweating it out in the cardio area. We like to have a little bit of fun also 😉

🔥 SLED PUSH TECHNIQUE 🔥 With the sled push, you equally want to maximise your force on the movement, while fatiguing yourself with the least amount of energy. Keeping your body compact and using your body weight as much as possible helps. I used to make this mistake of wrapping my arms around the bars for the push, but you end up wider, not as much surface area on the poles, you can’t engage your arms as much and your chest doesn’t come forward. You ideally want to lean into the weight as much as you can so your body weight can push it along, and in this position, you can use your biceps and arms slightly to take a tiny bit of weight off your legs (minor details, but it still helps). With the push off, I prefer slight stagger to use both legs to get the sled moving. You might do this 8 times, and it can make it easier to get the sled up to speed, and it’s a similar foot positioning you’d see in a sprinter or even scrum in rugby as you can generate more power with both legs 🚀 Try these tips out and see how you go! @hyroxanz #hyrox #hyroxtraining #fitreels #gymreels #sledpush #sledtechnique
