Rules listed below! Speed is a fast-paced 2 person card game played with a standard 52-card deck with the jokers removed. Objective: Be the first player to get rid of all your cards. Setup: Each player is dealt 20 cards. These are the cards you are trying to get rid of. Then deal 4 piles in the middle that consist of 5 cards, 1 card, 1 card and 5 cards. Gameplay: Players put 5 cards from their pile in their hand. Then, at the same time, players turnover the single card in front of them and the game begins. As quickly as possible, play cards one at a time that are either one rank higher or one rank lower than the card on top of the pile. (If the top card is a 5, a 6 or a 4 can be played on top. If the top card is an Ace, a King or a 2 can be played). Players do not take turns and can play on either of the middle piles. After playing a card, grab another one from your personal stack to keep 5 cards in your hand at all times until the end of the game. If no one can play on the middle piles, flip one of the cards over from the piles on the side at the same time. Winning: The first player to empty their pile of cards wins the game!
