It all started Christmas morning, when Kensington Kotuby opened a gift not immediately easy to figure out. There was a ring about 8 inches across. And a round, wheel-looking thing connected to it. It wasn’t on her wish list. “For a second, I was confused,’’ she says. What it was, was a Skip-It, an updated toy with origins in the 1960s, back when people of a certain age called it a Footsie. Well, that immediate “what is it?” vibe quickly turned into a deep love of the outdoor activity, and the 10-year-old soon just couldn’t put it away. To the point she’s now a Skip-It world-record holder.
