the one cue that will save your sled push most people grab the top of the pole and wonder why they’re dying. the problem is not your fitness. it’s your physics. 1. high hands tilt your torso forward — when your hands are at the top of the pole, your centre of mass shifts forward and over the sled. you lose the ability to load your legs and end up pushing with your upper body instead. that is an exhausting way to move a heavy sled. 2. lower hands change your body angle — dropping your hands brings your hips back and down. now your body is in a position where your glutes and quads can actually fire. you are driving the sled, not falling into it. 3. think push the ground, not the sled — once your hands are lower and your hips are loaded, the cue is simple. drive the ground away from you with every step. the sled moves as a result of that, not because you are muscling it forward with your arms. same weight. same fitness. completely different experience. . . . . #HYROX #HYROXtraining #sledpush #HYROXcoach #functionalfitness

Sled Push: Straight Arm Or Bent Arm? 🤷🏼♀️ Pushing up to 200kg for 50m is a challenge on its own. Add a 1km run immediately after, and suddenly it’s not just about strength — it’s about strategy. So, which sled push technique do you prefer? And which one do you think is more beneficial for a Hyrox race? Let’s take a look at the two main techniques and break down their pros and cons 👇 💥 Straight Arm Technique (Full Lockout): ✅ Benefits: • Great for maintaining speed and momentum over the distance. • Distributes the load across multiple muscle groups (shoulders, core, and legs). • Can be less taxing on the legs, which helps preserve running performance. ⚠️ Drawbacks: • Requires more shoulder stability to keep arms locked out. • May not generate as much raw power as bent arms for heavier loads. 💪 Bent Arm Technique (Shoulder Push): ✅ Benefits: • Allows for greater leg drive and hip extension, which helps move heavier weights. • More stable position for pushing maximal loads over short distances. ⚠️ Drawbacks: • Can be more taxing on the legs, especially the quads and glutes. • Shorter strides can make it feel slower and harder to maintain momentum. Ultimately, there’s no right or wrong technique. It depends on the load, your body mechanics, and what feels most efficient for you on race day. Now it’s your turn — which technique do you prefer? Do you switch between the two based on the weight? Or stick with one throughout? 🤔 Let me know your thoughts! 👇 • • • • • #hyrox #hyroxtraining #sledpush #gymtips #fitnessinspo #functionalfitness #hybrid #strengthtraining #fullbodyworkout #legday #hyroxcoach

🔥 SLED PUSH TECHNIQUE 🔥 With the sled push, you equally want to maximise your force on the movement, while fatiguing yourself with the least amount of energy. Keeping your body compact and using your body weight as much as possible helps. I used to make this mistake of wrapping my arms around the bars for the push, but you end up wider, not as much surface area on the poles, you can’t engage your arms as much and your chest doesn’t come forward. You ideally want to lean into the weight as much as you can so your body weight can push it along, and in this position, you can use your biceps and arms slightly to take a tiny bit of weight off your legs (minor details, but it still helps). With the push off, I prefer slight stagger to use both legs to get the sled moving. You might do this 8 times, and it can make it easier to get the sled up to speed, and it’s a similar foot positioning you’d see in a sprinter or even scrum in rugby as you can generate more power with both legs 🚀 Try these tips out and see how you go! @hyroxanz #hyrox #hyroxtraining #fitreels #gymreels #sledpush #sledtechnique

All done coach! @somyarout2806 Finally my watch says “training productive” “training at threshold” Thanks for the videos @burpeecoach_hari ( from my full hyrox simulation on Sunday)

Sled Push / Pull The sled pull is a great strength-based cardio move-you'll get your heart rate up while working your quads, hamstrings, glutes, lower back, and calf muscles in one movement. Pushing a heavy sled, you're muscular, cardiovascular endurance will increase, and you will gain more strength in your lower body. Sled training can be beneficial for both injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Which one are you? Don’t be told which one you SHOULD use, use the one that works for you. The arm positioning is personal, here’s what’s universal: - Small steps = consistent movement - Push through your hips, strong core & drive through your feet - Going unbroken isn’t necessarily going to make you faster but it will increase the likelihood of a big lactate buildup! Take pauses when you need to! - Try your best to run/jog out of this station to flush out the legs - walking will prolong the pain! #hyroxtraining #sledpush #gymtips #hybridfitness #coach
