Real life as a special needs mom & full-time caregiver ⚡️✨

Real life as a special needs mom & full-time caregiver ⚡️✨ From lifting my disabled teen to practicing her AAC device and encouraging communication through play with her brother.. I also had been working on phasing this activity chair out.. but on days when she’s already spunky like this, the chair becomes the safest option for both of us. But this little moment was like in the span of 15 mins.. and clearly we both needed a little moment to recharge 🥲⚡️ #specialneedsparent #caregivermom #aacmodeling #disabledteen

asked ChatGBT this morning - “why did God choose me to be a special needs mom.” And this was its answer…. Perhaps God chose you because you possess the resilience, love, and patience that your child needs. No one knows them like you do, and your unwavering dedication helps them thrive in a world that can sometimes be difficult to navigate. You may not have chosen this journey, but your heart, your ability to love unconditionally, and your perseverance might be what equips you for this role in a way that no one else could do. It’s okay to have moments of doubt or to ask “why me?”—those moments of questioning can be part of your growth. But remember that your child’s life, and your love for them, is a beautiful testament to your strength. You are chosen for a reason, even if that reason is something only God truly knows. You’re not alone in this. Many other mothers share similar struggles and find support in each other. And sometimes, the love you pour into your child transforms not just their life, but your own, in ways you never expected. Being Julian’s mom has been a privilege and an honor and I thank God everyday that Julian is mine❤️ #fyp #chatgbt #specialneeds #specialneedsmom #trending #momsofinstagram #explore #specialneedscommunity #epilepsy #cerebralpalsy #thankgod #instagram #godisgood

Talking about money around disability can feel a little uncomfortable, but I want to be honest about it. Minnesota does a really good job of setting families up for success and helping make it possible to keep kids with disabilities at home with their families. We are incredibly lucky to have access to supports like this. When we first started the paid parent program, I felt weird about it. Honestly, I wouldn’t even talk about it. But the truth is, when you are both a mom and a full-time caregiver, it is a job. It goes far beyond typical parenting. These programs exist for families like ours. They’re designed so kids can stay home, be cared for by the people who love them most, and still get the support they need. So if you qualify for benefits like this, use them. There is absolutely no shame in accessing support that was created for your child and your family. #disability #mn #specialneedsfamily #specialneedskids #realtalk

SPECIAL NEEDS PARENTING IS HARD Some days take everything out of you. The planning, the care, the constant awareness… it never really stops. But in between all of that, there are moments that slow everything down. The kind that remind you why you keep showing up. It’s heavy. And it’s beautiful. #daddylife #specialneedsparenting #realparenting #complexmedicalneeds #familylife

We found a school that understands her!! As a medical parent navigating early childhood education for a child with special needs, the thought of leaving her was terrifying! But we found that most beautiful school that provides therapy, care, inclusion and most importantly, a safe space where she is valued and understood!!! For any other parent who may be going through a similar journey, I’m right here with you! 🧡 • • #specialneedsfamily #specialisteducation #specialneedssupport #growingtotsclothing
