🤚🏼SPLIT HAND DRILL✋🏼 A great drill to sync up your body and arms is the “Split Hand Drill”. I learnt this from @grant_field_golf many years ago. If you want to work on a more in sync and connected golf swing, place your hands on the club like you see in the video. - Lead hand on top of grip (opposite lead thigh) - Trail hand underneath club shaft (opposite trail thigh) Turn to the top of your swing and you’ll feel what it’s like to use the bigger muscles to control rotation. You’ll also notice how the arm structure is at the top of the swing. Do a ton of mirror work on this and then try replicate the feel while over a golf ball. 👊🏼

It’s been called the rib cracker, the stick-up-the-shaft drill, and @edlasatergolf ‘s favorite, the samurai. 🥷🗡️ Some believe it to be (and will tell you it’s) a terrible drill. Yet we’ve seen many great players and ball strikers add this into their playbook. Drills and training aids in our experience serve a great purpose… And this one can be great if you are looking to produce a more desirable turn through the ball, better wrist mechanics, and impact conditions. It’s certainly not one we use every lesson, but by and large we’d say pretty much anyone could use it regularly (if done correctly) for improved patterning. That said, it could definitely be done in a way that works against the golfer. For example, pushing the hands forward to get more shaft lean and have the stick avoid yourself is not the way! There’s a nuance to it, just like with any drill. Knowing which one(s) work best for you often times takes practice, patience, and in many cases the watchful eye of a good coach. Drills and training aids can be good. This one seems to be working well for Mr. Knapp. P.S. - we do really like his swing too! This drill is GOATED. Sometimes you need to start from where you want to be, to get where you want to go. I just made that up. Damn that sounded like some Hormozi sh*% though. I should copyright that… Anyway, if you’re having trouble finding the slot, this drill is a great way to get there. Preset the wrist conditions, get to your impact feel with the body, and go from there.
