Today is the first day of spring. And also… not yet. March 1 marks meteorological spring. The equinox (March 21) marks astronomical spring. Spring is my favorite season, so I like that there’s more than one way to mark its arrival. 🌸 🌼 Daffodils now. ☀️ Equinox later. #endofwinter #firstdayofspring #reallifemagic #everydaymagic @enchantedbotanicals

It’s March Daylight Savings is this weekend Spring Equinox is in two weeks If you’re in the northeast we may have had our last frost It’s time to crack the windows, put away the hats and heavy coats + come out of hibernation It’s time to begin planning and tending to what’s ahead What areas of your life to hope to grow? Where do you want to feel buds beginning to bloom? What seeds can you plant now to harvest later this year? Spring is my actual favorite time of year. If winter is night time, spring feels like early morning. Everything is sleepy, but waking up The air is crisp, but getting warm There is an abundant amount of hope in the air as the day, or year, is just getting started ! I’m ready for flowers. I’m ready for fresh air. I’m ready for change. I’m ready. How do you feel about this time of year?

Only 5 Thursdays left until spring! The countdown to lighter nights, warmer days, and fresh starts begins now… 💛 🎥 @anya.g.rowe #springequinox #springhassprung #spring

COUNTDOWN ⏳ TO SPRING! 🗓️March 1: Meteorological Spring ⏰March 8: "Spring Forward": DST Begins 🌸March 20: Spring Equinox #spring #springcountdown #gardening #weather #springcountdown

Today’s gardening question to me was ⬆️ Here’s what we can say about whether spring is “late” in the UK in 2026: 🌱 Official Seasonal Timing • Meteorological spring (based on average temperatures) always runs 1 March to 31 May in the UK — so by that definition it’s not late at all this year. • Astronomical spring (based on the equinox) begins when day and night are equal — in 2026 that’s Friday, 20 March. That’s pretty typical (it usually falls around 20–21 March each year), so by that calendar year spring isn’t unusually late. 🌦️ Weather & Seasonal Feel • In terms of weather conditions (colder days, frost, late flowers, wildlife activity), things can vary year to year — some springs feel later if chilly air patterns persist. • Around mid-February 2026, recent UK weather has still felt quite wintry and unsettled in places, which may make it feel like spring hasn’t really started yet in many areas. 📅 Clocks and Daylight • The clocks will go forward to British Summer Time (BST) on Sunday 29 March 2026, which is a big signal of spring approaching because of longer evenings. ⸻ Bottom line ❗ Officially: spring is on time. 🌤 In nature/weather terms: it might feel later this year in some parts of the UK because of lingering cool, unsettled conditions, but the calendar arrival isn’t delayed.

When does Spring begin for you? 🌼 1st of March or the 21st of March? 🤔 1st of March through to the 31st of May it is officially spring in the UK according to the meteorological calendar. However the 21st of March is the astronomical spring. Interestingly Winter officially ends on the 20th of March…. 🤯 Cast your vote on the poll or drop a comment to share your thoughts 👇 #spring #newseason #whendoesspringstart #springtime #springtime
