I started my home bakery business over a decade ago at the farmer’s market. Because of that exposure, I started getting orders and more orders. I took orders all year long and quickly became booked. In fact, I had to turn down orders almost daily because of the growth. Taking orders means you have to fulfill the order. I know, right? Sounds simple. But I started taking on too much and the stress of filling orders and baking every single day was too much for me. I had to streamline my home bakery and figure out what would work for me. So I stopped taking orders. Now, when I bake, I only do pop-ups or first-come, first-served events. I make what I can and hope that it sells. If I accidentally burn a batch of cookies, I don’t have to re-make them because a customer ordered them. I just won’t have as many cookies available! I feel like this has really helped my stress level and I’m also enjoying my bakery more than ever. This method works for me right now in my business. Taking orders from customers may be the way you need to work YOUR business right now. That’s the beauty of owning your own business-you can manage it the way you want! And who knows? Someday, when life slows down a little, I may start taking a cookie order every now and then! #Cookieorders #homebakerybusiness #homebaker #homebakery #bakefromhome #startahomebakery

How much we make as a business now ⬇️ and how it started🫶🏽 • Started baking at 11-12 years old and created my first Instagram page at 14—back then, it was called The Kid Who Bakes (a little secret not many know!). • What started as a small home baking business grew steadily. Even while in school, I was making ₹10-15K a month. • Then came 12th grade and COVID. While the world slowed down, my kitchen didn’t—I was averaging ₹1 lakh in sales per month that year. • None of this would’ve been possible without my family. My brother handled marketing, my dad kept track of finances and costing, and my mom was my biggest motivator, standing by my side through it all. She even shielded me from difficult clients when I was just a kid figuring things out. • After school, I got into Delhi University while continuing to build my business. During my first summer break, I trained at Lavonne Academy in Bangalore. • I came back excited and full of new skills, but life threw a curveball—we had to shift homes, 40 km away, and I lost my existing client base. • So, I started over. I rebuilt through reels, posting non-stop through my college years, trying to find my footing again. • That effort led to a natural pivot—our audience was mostly bakers, and teaching became the next step. What started as recipe reels turned into full-fledged online masterclasses, and before I knew it, I had an e-learning platform. • Today, we sell 500 masterclasses a month, still create desserts alongside them, and have grown into a six-figure business. My mom and I run it as partners, with a team of five incredible people working with us. After withdrawing our salaries, we make sure to save at least 30% every month—a practice that keeps us grounded and future-focused. • And now, at 22, I’ve opened my own kitchen studio—a space that’s ours, built from years of learning, failing, growing, and baking. From a home kitchen to a studio, we’re truly grateful💛

I did my first pop-up stall last month and had a very thrilling time doing it. Whilst stressful, pop-up demands a lot of smart planning and prep system. You eventually get better at it with practice. I will release more reels with what I learnt from my experience from the pop-up so far. Starting a bakery business in 2023-2024 can be a promising venture for several reasons: 1. Demand for Specialty and Artisanal Products: Consumers continue to seek high-quality, artisanal baked goods, creating opportunities for unique products. 2. Health-Conscious Trends: As more people focus on healthier eating, bakeries can cater to this demand with options like gluten-free, sugar free, vegan, or low-sugar or use of less processed sugar. 3. Convenience and Grab-and-Go: Bakeries that offer convenient, on-the-go options can tap into the busy lifestyles of customers looking for quick snacks and meals. 4. Customization and Personalization: Customized cakes, cookies, and pastries for special occasions remain popular, allowing for higher profit margins. 5. Online Presence: A strong online presence, including social media marketing and e-commerce, can help reach a wider audience and boost sales. 6. Local Support: Community support for local businesses is strong, which can benefit bakery owners who focus on building relationships with their customers. 7. Diversification: Diversifying your product range with items like coffees, sandwiches, or catering services can increase revenue streams. 8. Low Entry Barriers: Compared to some other businesses, starting a small bakery can have relatively low startup costs. However, it’s important to conduct thorough market research, create a solid business plan, and be prepared for competition in the bakery industry. Success will depend on factors like location, product quality, pricing, and marketing strategies. #bakery #business #homebaker #india ndia

Are you a home baker dreaming of opening your own bakery? Let’s pause and consider a more effective approach.🫢 Like many passionate bakers, I started out with the dream of running a bakery, imagining a quaint shop filled with the shelves of beautiful cakes. But the reality involved long hours, tight margins, and a relentless workload.🤯 I know what I am talking about! After years in the traditional bakery business, I switched gears to an online model. ➡️ Here’s what I discovered: selling digital baking products like eBooks, courses, and video tutorials can be far more profitable and less physically demanding than running a physical bakery. These products allow you to teach, share, and sell your expertise globally, without the overhead costs of a brick-and-mortar location. Why limit your incredible baking talents to local customers when you can reach an enthusiastic global audience? By focusing on digital products, you not only increase your potential earnings but also gain flexibility to work on your terms and more time to enjoy life outside the kitchen. 👉🏻Curious about how to start? Learn how to create, market, and sell your baking expertise online. Drop a comment “GUIDE” below if you’re ready to explore the digital baking business and want to learn more about making this lucrative pivot. Let’s rise together in the digital world!
