Shirt trouser and seleves cutting tutorial #stitching #foryoü #frockcutting #stitches

How to end a stitch: Read below 👇 Complete your final stitch and bring the needle to the WRONG SIDE of the fabric. On the wrong side, pass the needle through the last stitch you made to create a small loop, and then pass the needle through the loop to form the first knot. Pull it tight to secure it. Create a second knot by forming another small loop and passing the needle through it, then pulling it tight. Once you're sure the knots are secure, trim any excess thread. 🫶🪡✨ #sewinginstagram #handstitching #sewingforbeginners #fashiondesigner

The internet is such a wonderful place especially when it shows you what you are not looking for but maybe someday, somewhere, it’s exactly what you’ll need. You don’t know it yet but the algorithm does. 😂 I saw this sewing tip from @shop_dogoodies and saved it just in case I might need it. Months later, the Kindle and Paperback sleeves were born and I am so glad I saved this hack because as a self-taught sewist, I would never know what this was called nor how to do it properly. Thank you @shop_dogoodies ✨💕 #normalizecreditingothercreatorratherthanjustcopyingthem

Ladder stitch, invisible stitch, whatever you call her, in my opinion is the easiest and cleanest stitch you can do to finish off a garment if you are required to hand sew a section. For me, I line a lot of my garments so this is the perfect way to close off the lining. It’s a simple stitch once you get the hang of it, just remember to go slow and be patient, you’ve got this! 😌 By far the most important step is to start by ironing your garment, if you want you can press the seams open too. Start by knotting your thread and bringing your needle towards you from the back. Now stitch across and up, then to the opposite side, parallel to your precious stitch and up again and through to you, then back to the other side. When the seam is open it should look like a ladder! Keep repeating this till you’ve closed your seam and pull the thread for a satisfying finish. Remember to knot your thread again once you’ve finished and that’s it! Happy sewing 🪡 🤍 #teaganjacobs

A short break and onto the next project! 🧵🪡 Have decided to have a go at drafting my own pattern. Planning on making one of those side tie tops. I’ve based the pattern off a top I already had and made a few amendments - hoping it turns out ok!! Using the same fabric as my lane pants so I’ve got a lil matching set ☀️ #sewingtiktok #creative #sewingforyoupage #sewingmachine #memade #creativetiktok #handmade #sewingskills #sewing #sewingpattern

How to Sew That Thing | Episode 2- how to finish an armhole (or neckline)! This is for the concealed bias tape method, where you don’t see the bias tape from the outside of the garment. You can use it on armholes or necklines and it’s such a nice way to finish the raw edge! #sewing #sewingtutorial #sewist
