HESSEQUA NUUS - Stormagtige toestande het Hessequa sedert vroeg vanoggend in chaos gedompel, met Riversdal, Heidelberg en Stilbaai wat tans sonder elektrisiteit sit nadat sterk wind en gure weerstoestande die streek getref het. Volgens beskikbare inligting is daar nog geen aanduiding wanneer kragtoevoer herstel sal word nie. Die stormweer het reeds vanaf ongeveer 07:00 vanoggend begin toeslaan en inwoners word gewaarsku om uiters versigtig te wees. Die Suid-Afrikaanse Weerdiens voorspel verdere reën later vandag, wat toestande moontlik verder kan vererger. Twee vragmotors het ook binne enkele kilometers van mekaar op die N2 tussen Heidelberg en Riversdal omgeslaan, vermoedelik weens die sterk wind wat tans oor die gebied waai. Geen ernstige beserings is teen druktyd bevestig nie. In Riversdal het verskeie bome reeds omgewaai, met sommige wat paaie versper en verkeer bemoeilik. Motoriste word veral gewaarsku om versigtig te ry op paaie in en om die dorp, asook op die Garcia-pas waar omgewaaide bome en swak sigbaarheid gevaarlike toestande skep. I didn’t start storm chasing until 2017, but my obsession with severe weather goes back as far as 2000. The year of this video is 2011. I was 14 years old, no idea what I was doing. Me and my older brother rushed outside joyfully and filmed a storm passing by. Got a couple decent lightning shots despite using a Palm Pixie to film.
