(please forward this to him if you agree!) 💡 Scott, my pitch is simple: While you continue to push back on our government through your #resistandunsubscribe campaign—great idea, btw—why not shift that money into the hands of pro-democracy, pro-peace creators by encouraging people to subscribe to individuals’ personal platforms on Substack? Wouldn’t it be great if our economy leaned into supporting creators’ voices directly instead of a few tech billionaires’? Note: In fairness, I haven’t poured over a complete listing of Substack’s largest owners-I am sure some of them fall into the billionaire a**hole club-but Substack only takes 10% of creators’ profits-leaving most of the money in the hands of the creators. So Scott, what about recommending some great people to subscribe to on Substack while we stick it to the big guys? I got a new subscriber, @elon943502, to my Substack blog. It was followed immediately by a direct message ostensibly from Elon to me. Now, I never believed that the supposed richest man in the world, who I am vaguely aware has a multiplicity of interests, had deigned to engage with me personally, but I was interested to see how the conversation with his Substack bot might develop.
