Part 3: We Trusted Superior Engineering With Our LandCruiser… Was It Worth It? Remember that big suspension overhaul on our 80 Series—3" lift, remote res shocks, hyperflex arms—the whole works? We were amped… until the reality check hit. The rig started pulling right, making clunks, and the rear coils sagged under our load. Not ideal when you’re gearing up for a global trip. The turnaround? Superior Engineering stepped up. They brought the truck back in, swapped the 3" radius arms for 4", adjusted the steering damper, refreshed the bushings, and fitted beefier coils to suit our weight. The difference is unreal—smooth, planted, and adventure-ready. Those 8-stage adjustable shocks are the heroes here. Day-to-day, we’re running 7 up front and 8 in the rear to balance the extra 120kg on the roof. Once we hit endless corrugations, we drop to 1 and 2 and it feels like the whole road just melts away. Huge credit to the Superior crew for standing behind their gear and making sure our setup was spot-on. Must admit the @alublack_outdoor tray and canopy setup works great and arguably one of the best additions to the cruiza, must also admit that removing the sway bar was not the best idea… 😂 even with the @superior4x4 2.5 ECDS shocks set on their hardest the fella just wants to flex at the wrong times (Highway doing 120 around a bend), the sway bar will be refitted along with its Superior sway bar extensions 🤘 #toyota #offroad #4x4 #superiorengineering
