However, trials with lipid-lowering drugs find that every 1% reduction in average plaque size gives a 20-25% decrease in the risk of cardiovascular disease events That’s a significant improvement from just 6 months of trainig So, what did their HIIT workout look like? The workout protocol consisted of a 10-minute warmup at 60-70% of maximum heart rate, followed by 4 minutes of running at 85-95% of max heart rate, 3 minutes of running at 60-70%, repeated for 4 rounds, and ended with a 5-minute cooldown.
