Look. I LOVE designing repeat patterns as much as the next surface pattern designer. I’ve released 20 fabric collections with @modafabrics over the last 8 years. However, when I think about myself, my identity is NOT only “fabric designer” or “surface pattern designer”. How to make a repeating pattern on procreate! From someone who is not at all tech savvy and isn’t great with digital designs, I found it fairly easy to create patterns! Hope this is helpful 💗✨

Scallop pattern tutorial🪭 • Open a 12 x 12 inch canvas on procreate • Add the template using add photo and click “Fit to canvas”. • Create a new layer above the template layer and draw your elements. • Turn off the template layer • On the design layer, mark the four corner using any brush. Duplicate this layer 4 times. • Move each layer to their respective quadrant and turn on the original. • Voila! Your scallop pattern is ready to be repeated seamlessly. Setp 5 - Set the Repeat Pattern: Once the composition is complete, create a seamless repeat pattern in Photoshop to ensure it tiles perfectly.
