Save for later, follow for more🤍 Note: SPF varies based on zinc oxide percentage—do your research and always reapply. Sunscreen * 1/2 cup Grass-fed Tallow * 1/2 cup Coconut oil or Olive oil * 1-2 oz Beeswax pellets (more for a stiffer stick, less for cream) * 2–4 tbsp Non-nano Zinc Oxide Powder (15% = ~SPF 15, 25% = ~SPF 30) Instructions 1. Melt: Combine tallow, coconut oil, and beeswax in a double boiler over low heat until fully melted. 2. Cool: Remove from heat and let it cool for 5-10 minutes until warm, not hot. 3. Add Zinc: Stir in the non-nano zinc oxide. Safety note: Wear a mask to avoid inhaling the powder. 4. Whisk: Use a hand mixer or whisk to blend thoroughly to prevent the zinc from settling at the bottom. 5. Set: Pour into jars and let it cool completely at room temperature or in the fridge. Whipped lavender tallow! Feels so soft and fluffy. Here’s the recipe: In a double boiler, gently melt 8oz (225g) rendered tallow with 2oz (56g) of your chosen carrier oil over low heat (almond oil or jojoba). Make sure you melt them together. Add 20 ish drops of your preferred essential oil. Let cool on the counter, then whip until you get your desired consistency.
