Tattoo Aftercare Tips Everyone has their own healing method—some prefer ointments, others use tattoo film, and some keep it covered with a pad. For large tattoos, here’s what I’ve found works best: I wrap the tattoo with a pad, then cover it with tattoo film for the first 24 hours. This helps prevent those huge ink sacks from forming. (Ink sacks can be fine for small tattoos, but on large pieces they leak, stain your bed, and can muddy your white ink.) After 24 hours, I remove everything, clean it well, let it dry for about 10 minutes, then reapply fresh @sorrymomtattoo tattoo film. I keep that film on for 6 full days—this keeps the tattoo clean and lowers the risk of infection. (Yes, even from your dog licking it 🐶😂). After removing it, I recommend using @sorrymomtattoo lotion 3x daily until fully healed.
